I have been so out of touch while taking care of my mom. I have gained 13 lbs in the past 2 months while her health has deteriated. Now that she is gone (she just passed on July 19th) I need to take care of myself. I miss her so much already but I know she would not want me to go down hill. I will need all the help I can get just to get me off the couch!

Does anyone know a good jumpstart diet that will make me lose a few fast lbs the first wk to help motivate me?
209.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 36.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I don't have any jumpstart diet ideas for you but I know how you feel. My mom was quite ill the last 5 years of her life and my dad and I took care of her. When she passed, I sat back and realized just how awfully high my weight had become. I gained like 50 pounds!!! one and a half years later I am down about 21 pounds and just chugging along. I am sorry for you loss, but you are right, your Mom would not want you to let your health go. Use her memory as your motivation.

Have you heard of dukan. When I did it i lost 9 lbs in my first 4 days (attack phase). Then the scale went down almost every day in cruise phase. I lost about 27 lbs in 6 weeks and moved into the third phase. So sorry to hear about your Mom
