Good morning!

Just a short check-in today. It's Sunday, the sun is already out, and my 5K walk is waiting for me.

It was Indulgence Day yesterday, so naturally I'm up in weight - by a lot. I gained 3 kilos, but that's pretty normal these days.

They'll come off again through the week.

I weight a little more after this week's Indulgence Day than last week, but my fat% is somewhat lower. Last week, it was at 5.9%, today it's "unmeasurable" by my scale, which means it's under 5. That's a good start. :)

So, looking back over the last month or so, I see some patterns that I am starting to realize. Some are obvious, some a little more hidden.

It's been pretty clear to me that it's been a struggle staying UNDER 80 kilos in general. It really hasn't happened lately, and I really want to get there again.

I was looking at at the statistics from my calorie counter website, and I do see some changed patterns lately.

1. WAY more Indulgence Days. I've had concerts, parties, 3-days-in-a-row-Indulgence-Days and what have you. These need to stop. Now.

2. I really haven't done my Low Cal Days. The days that I go for 600 or less calories (but usually end up at 600-650 calories, which I can live with).

These two things need - NEED - to be implemented again.

There are several reasons for the Low Cal Days.

- They make me feel great. After an Indulgence Day, I often feel sluggish, and I have noticed that when I do the Low Cal Days, I really feel GREAT! There is just something about them that makes me feel like my entire system is optimized, and it's an incredible feeling. Just writing about it actually makes me miss it, and right now I'm actually super psyched that I'm doing one today - as a part of getting FULLY on track.

- They help me restrict my calories. Well, duh. Low Cal Days are naturally calorie restrictive, right? :)

- Supposedly, they give me a LOT of health benefits. According to the "Eat, Fast, Live Longer" documentary, and the "2 Meal Solution" book, there are a lot of assumed health benefits to this. Less risk of cancer, alzheimer's, diabetes, etc.

- They help me stay humble to my weight and to control what I really need to eat to stay satisfied. Focus on the ball and the goal, Keld. Focus.

So, with all these things in mind, a new week starts today. It starts with a Low Cal Day, as I'm playing music today and it's a walk in the park doing a day like that today.

What is interesting about the Low Cal Days implemented, and the weight loss I accomplished in the weeks (about 4 weeks ago) where I saw GREAT results and reached the lowest weight in quite a while, is that I really didn't go much lower in overall calorie intake. It was much more a matter of how I distributed them.

Over the course of the two weeks up to my 76.8 kilo weigh-in on the 22nd of June, I consumed 1900 calories per day on average. Not really any different from now, only I think it generally was better foods that promote feeling a whole lot better than eating junk.

There HAS been too much junk intake lately. I know and feel that there has. I think it's come along with the great, sunny, summer weather, the parties, the good living. It also came with me being tired and sluggish, which is just a viscious circle. You feel sluggish, you eat junk, then feel more sluggish.

So, we're gonna do right. It's gonna be a Low Cal Day today, and then we take it from there.

Of course, this IS a challenge, as the next week is vacation for me. We're not doing anything, so there could be a lot of down time at home. Then again, it could also be time that I am out and about, doing MORE and moving MORE than I already do.

That being said, I'm in no way inactive. I felt that yesterday was a lazy day, and these are the stats.

Not bad for a lazy day, I think. :)

Anyways, I'm about to go walk, then pack up my music gear to go play. I better get going.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Low Cal Day!
- Wife!
- Vacation time!
- Playing music!

Life is good!
