Well wouldja look at that, the weight is heading down again!

Day 3, no wheat. This is just so much easier than I ever thought it would be. Do I miss bread? Well yes, I do, and other things made with wheat as well. There are a fair number of things that I must accept that I have to give up, but there are substitutes for many of them, if I care to make them. If it seems like more trouble than it's worth to make it, then clearly I don't want it that much.

I think I'm going to go snip some rosemary and try a quick focaccia made with GF stuff. I also need to pick up some hummus-we have a glut of cucumbers and I just love them with hummus.

Not much to report today, really!

eating gluten free can be hard, but there are plenty of options out there for you. Good luck, and good work! :D

Yasmin, you are so right-there really are a lot of options out there, frankly I'm eating better, more veggies, than I usually do because now that my go-to, quick option of bread or crackers is not one of my options, I have to choose other things.

How are you doing with cravings? I know when I cut something out of my diet, that tends to be the one thing that I crave a lot!

The first few days were the worst, but really it went away pretty quickly. It's more frustration with trying to find substitutes, than actual craving for the wheat things. I make bread for the family nearly every day and honestly I'm rarely tempted. Part of it is that I FEEL. SO. MUCH. BETTER. Part of it is knowing that I've gotten this far and have not died, thus, if I start up again, I just have to go through giving it up all over again, with all the discomfort involved of re-introducing wheat. I didn't realize how bad it made me feel until I started not feeling bad.
