Finally back to my low weight from July 4th. Took two weeks to get back there. No idea why I spiked up. Just hope it keeps going down from here. Seems like the last two weeks have been spent losing the same weight again. I want to get off the roller coaster! I never have liked that ride~

Worst ride ever! I try to look at it this way though, in the past I would have let that gain defeat me and just keep spiraling higher. Nowadays I re-lose it and keep moving forward. It's a slow process but we're getting there. Good job bringing it back down!! Hope all is well with the family.

I just get frustrated when I had to get back down to where I was before and there is no explanation for why it went up. The one time I got really badly sunburned...so I went up in weight after that. This last time there appears to be no rhyme or reason. Frustrating...but I will keep plugging along I guess. Family is hanging in there. Dad was sent back to nursing home from hospital...but then last night taken back to hospital again for pain management. Then back to the nursing home again. He is bouncing all over the place. I worry that the reason he is in pain again is that the antibiotic is not clearing the infection. However, whatever will be will be.

I can certainly understand your frustration! Most of the time our bodies don't make any sense. All kinds of factors can affect our weight, heat stress etc. Sometimes when I start to slow on losing I up my caloric intake for a week or so. Sounds crazy I know but it works. A week or so after I take my calories back down weight starts falling off. I think it might have something to do with increasing my metabolic rate. At any rate, I know how you feel! I hope the doctors can get your father back to feeling comfortable asap. I have worked in the medical field as well as having been on the patient end and I know how stressful it is as a family member. My advice would be to give the doctors hell. Doctors and staff are busy, sometimes patients get overlooked or pushed to the side. Raise hell, stomp your feet and complain to whomever is around. He wont be overlooked if you don't let him be. I pray that he has great staff caring for him, and also to ease your stress. One day at a time :-) I'll be thinking of you!

Yeah...yesterday I ate whatever...pushed my calories to the absolute limit of where I want to be in a day...but well below where fat secret had me. Maybe with revised weight it is time to adjust it. I shouldn't go much below 1200 I have heard. I have been below that much of the last two weeks I think...Time to reset metabolism sounds good to me. Sister has power of attorney for my Dad. They mainly listen to her. Especially since I am the youngest at 50 years old (you would think that I am old enough now...but always the youngest.) I was very vocal in the emergency room Sunday evening. I pushed and pushed while she seemed content to wait for what the doctors had to say. Guess when you deal with it all the time it is different...

You definitely don't want your calories below 1200! I usually stay around 1400, but it's never dead on (sometimes Im closer to 1800, eat more on days you're more active too). From what Ive learned about nutrition it's that if your calories are too low your body is really going to fight you to let go of extra pounds. Don't let nutrition be a war, eat what you want in reasonable portions, lots of fiber and vegetables to keep everything moving through. Eventually that weight will have no choice but to leave! I'm glad that you spoke up in the ER, sometimes it's what's needed. I can't speak for your sister, everyone handles things differently. I am the oldest in my family, I have a younger brother who is addicted to heroin and a baby sister with downs syndrome. Our mother is a single mom, and from a very young age I've been partly responsible for the care of my younger siblings. I'm used to having tons of responsibility on my shoulders and It gets extremely overwhelming. I'm sure your sister appreciates your support.

Originally fatsecret had my calories at 2400 and that was not doing it. My hubby had read somewhere that you should take your goal weight and take it times 10. So I have been targeting around 1600 calories. Then I seemed to lose, because I am usually between 1100-1450 calories in reality. Since it is such a battle for me...maybe I should bump it up a bit to keep my metabolism up.

I'm back hope you are well. Gonna go ahead and weigh in the morning because because I have been gone all week. Good trip but had to ruch home with a very sick puppy, thought she was gonna die before we got home but it was just false pregnancy so she is on antibiotics for awhile ans surgery in six weeks to remove her female parts. Good for her bad for my purse.....LOL
