DairyKing's Journal, 03 July 2013

Getting ready for the traditional fish and potato fry tomorrow. DW's dad started this tradition 30 years ago, and it looks like it has fallen to me now. I've got 45 pounds of catfish fillets and lots of potatoes to fry up. Guess I'll start that diet again next week.

Using an old family secret recipe: 1/3 flour, 1/3 Andy's Fish seasoning, and 1/3 cornmeal. You haven't lived until you've had potatoes and fish coated with this and deep fried in canola oil. I'm taking no prisoners - this fish will not go back in the freezer; what they don't eat goes home with them.

I'm not going back to work until Monday. Happy 4th everyone!

You know, you COULD just grill a few of those fillets for yourself, that would be more diet friendly...just saying! LOL

When I was growing up in Georgia, there was someone in town who had a big fish fry each year. It seemed like everyone in town was there, but that can't be true. Catfish! YUM! Such a mild, good fish. Makes me want to get back down south. Family traditions are so important. Have a wonderful 4th!

Well, My Friends, I took a little sabbatical and things got away from me. Before I knew it, I was wrapped up in so many projects that I didn't make time for exercise and didn't care what I ate. I put 15 pounds back on, and I'm right back where I started. I think it's mostly muscle though. :D I was following you guys via the email alerts though.
