Sandy701's Journal, 03 July 2013

Rain, rain, rain, rain......and more rain. I had hoped it wouldn't begin until later today so I could do my work at the thrift this afternoon and also get at least the backyard mowed. No such luck. The 10PM forecast last night changed the timing of the rain to "overnight," and by 10PM, it was too late to go out and mow! LOL! Oh well, I'm hopeful I can still go to the thrift if it's just rain and not too stormy for my Nervous Nellie to be at home without me.

It appears that the entire Fourth holiday will be a washout with 5+ inches of rain expected, going right on through the weekend. We'll need one of those sickle thingies to cut our way through the grass to get to the house by then! It will be a real jungle. I suppose another way to look at it is that mowing the yard after all this rain will be a VERY nice, hard workout for me that should drop another pound or so. :)

Too bad it has to rain on the 4th. One good thing about grass - it will still be there ready to mow when the sun comes back. I'm sure you are not the only one in your neighborhood whose grass needs mowing! Try to enjoy your holiday anyway!

Buffy, you're right about the neighborhood. We're all looking pretty shabby about now. It's still dripping on and off and I just saw a lawn service truck drive by! No way is ANY lawn dry enough to mow, but I guess they feel they've got to get some $$ coming in, rain or not.

flooded a lot of places here in Panama City Beach, I was one of the lucky ones. Step son's house flooded... God works in mysterious ways... they were talking about replacing the carpet a week ago, now the insurance will do it.
