Yolanda9179's Journal, 03 July 2013

Holy calories, I really need to keep my eye on you! So we are mid-week on my 'get into the thirties' sprint and I'm still at 242. Son of a biscuit!! I know its the food, I KNOW. It's not that I'm binging, I'm not. But my portions at dinner are larger than they need to be, plus the extra few bites as I'm putting everything away. Oh, and those pies I made certainly arn't helping. It's the stress. I'm a recovering emotional eater and although I haven't had any issues for months now, I'm really feeling the stress now and my first instinct is to go for the fridge. Money is exceptionally tight, the primary cause for my stress. It's so tight that I'm left with a sixty dollar grocery budget to last a family of four a week. Needless to say I literally can't afford the healthy fresh fruits and veggies. It's a miracle dinner is on the table every night. Shouldn't be a big deal, you can lose weight on less than ideal foods, as long as you don't over consume. This isn't a pity party, I'm just trying to explain where my stress is coming from. My food journal will be thrilled to find that I'm going to start using it for the remainder of the week. And I guess on vacation next week I'll be going old school with a note pad and pen to keep track of my calories.

Sorry to hear that things are tight...same here. That is really stressful to overcome. Food journal will be excited...and so should you...it will keep you from overindulging. Try to have a good vacation! Leave the stress at home.

Thank you so much! :-) I fully intend to leave the stress behind. I applied for a job serving at one of my favorite restaurants, longhorn steakhouse lol. If I can get an interview I'm sure I will get the job, I'm a very professional people person. That would make me feel a lot better. I've only been off work for a few months but with my husbands income alone we are struggling and I feel very guilty! It will all even out, one day at a time! I'm not going to lie I have been on this site for quite some time now and I've never had more replies and support than in this past week, It is more needed and appreciated than I could possibly express to you. Obviously my husband is great support, but he couldn't possibly understand everything from my perspective. Honestly I don't share these details of my life with my few 'real life' friends, they suck and I think they are jealous and spiteful of my success. I Logged in my food and activity for the day and I'm excited to see the calorie deficit at the end of the day. I think that is what I have been missing, knowing the numbers will help me stick to my limits. Thank you again!

Well I will be proud of your success! I think it helps to "talk" with another woman. My hubby has lost 60 some pounds since last fall. He is great for the technical stuff...but doesn't get it when I get crabby because I haven't changed anything...but yet gain weight. Usually that tom that rears it's ugly head and messes with me. Dealing with that now...my weight chart looks like a roller coaster! Glad I can help!
