I am starting the 5:2 Fast Diet today as I need to lose weight for my nieces wedding, the wedding is after Christmas, I need some support from you all, I have to admit I'm not doing to well on my own diet wish me luck ,thank you all.
178.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 18.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.

It is nice to see there is someone on the other side of the screen .I am really going to do this I think this one will work for me, Thank you for the support.

Hi Sherpau, Welcome to the 5:2 community. This diet does work and over time you will see the freedom it give you. The fast days are not that hard even though it does take a little discipline. You no longer have to worry that you can't enjoy social eating. The beauty of this is you can shift you fast days to suit your lifestyle. I follow the Alternate Day Diet sometimes where you fast every other day but at times doesn't work if the fast day falls on the day of a social event. I usually fast 3 days a week or at least two. Check out the journals of others to see what they are oeating on their fast days. You might find some things to eat that you never thought of before. If you do eat more than you plan on a fast day but planned the next day as a regular day, keep your regular day and plan the fast day on another day. I do this because I'm trying really hard to break out of the "I did bad or messed up syndrome." It helps me not to see my fast days as a punishment. Hang in there I hope all goes well for you.

Wow! thank you very much Sherota , I know I can stick to this diet,I lost one pound this week , what you said about alternate days I can manage that , on other diets if I ate to much one day i would give up and feel let down , I have a good feeling about this one . I will give it a week or sow and let you know how I am getting on.

Great I'll check your progress. What I love is there really isn't any being bad just making adjustmentys to fit your life style.

I was invited out to dinner this evening it was soooo good eating with no guilt we had a starter the main course and coffee When I got home I had a slice of cake and a coffee I feel happy going to bed looking forward to my fast day tomorrow knowing Its only one day O yes and I am Losing some weight to grrrreat ,

My exercise is meeting my Sister at her house Monday Wednesday and Friday and going for a 5 mile walk , We are doing this for the past 3 years I know she is waiting for me and I wont let her down If either of us is away the other gets hard to walk, I don't think I need to be super fit but is this enough I ask myself I also do a a bit in the garden other days, any way it free and it works for us.
