CollyMP's Journal, 27 June 2013

Oh good grief!

This house KNOWS when we're going to be short on money, I swear.

Dishwasher motor burned out and the pump is damaged. My own fault, I broke a glass dish a week ago and apparently missed a piece, it got caught in the workings and the motor burned out trying to push it through, and it ripped up the pump.

This wouldn't be a problem if I didn't cook nearly everything from scratch, but I do. Thus, I have mountains of dishes to wash!

So, tonight I bought a new dishwasher. Thus far this month I have had to replace a seat in the husbands truck ($400), replace a sink drain ($230) fix the husbands truck, various issues ($500), glasses for the child ($300) and now this ($650). The furloughs start next week, and we go down to 80% of normal income. My credit card is warm to the touch, if this doesn't stop it'll start smoking soon. Or may be I will, it's cheaper than eating, right?

In other news, though, I seem to be coming out of a fog, which is nice. I know what I want out of life and I can achieve it, I just have to quit being wishy-washy about it and DO it. Easier said than done, but isn't it always?

My first week on this challenge is not going to be very impressive but I believe and hope that next week I can and will do better. I'm not dropping out of it by any means, I am recognizing my tendency to get in my own way and I'm trying to work my way around it. Results may vary, of course, but I think I can get there.

It always works like that, doesn't it. Low on cash... something breaks, burns out or boils over. I read 'heal your life' and the author made some connection about that - and sometimes I agree. It seems when I go out & just burn a ridiculous amount of money on stupid crap it comes back to me in other ways but when I penny pinch and bean count I find I have fewer pennies to pinch and beans to count. Weird but true. Something about funding the universe. I just ordered a completely useless not needed thing and bam... did 20 times that amount in sales from an unexpected customer. I'm just sayin...

LOL-well I have to say that we do still keep chugging along, in spite of it all.
