One of the many reasons I'm such a huge advocate for enjoying the outdoors! The hustle and bustle of society gets so tiresome... out in local parks, you can breathe in some natural and uncrowded air!

I was born and raised in the Bay Area (San Francisco & South City) and graduated from Antioch High. As a teen my friends and I used to hang out and drink...err, I mean hang out and TALK (LOL) at Black Diamond Mines. All the places you've named were very well known to me. Am stuck in the Midwest now, heh. Thanks for posting these, you've brought back some great memories for me!

I'm sure you miss the bay tons, Raven! Hope you make it back sometime! Black Diamond was definitely a challenge on a bike, but I definitely want to go back sometime :) Did you ever make it down to Big Basin? That's by far, is my most favorite bay area park! 2nd only to Yosemite!

CJ, oh hell yeah! Redwoods and waterfalls! Loved that it was in Boulder Creek--so much closer than Yosemite (although I honeymooned in Yosemite...and was with my older brother when he scaled El Capitan). Damn, man, you're making me homesick! Seriously though, thanks! ;)

I'm hoping that seeing pics of these taken in my local area will inspire others to check out their local parks as well :) Raven, I plan on hitting up Big Basin again in the next couple months so I'll post some pics for ya! Yosemite is on the hitlist too. I've hiked it plenty, so this time I'll simply ride the park floor and lazy river the merced with the ice chest in tow lol
