raitchison's Journal, 14 September 2010

Well I certainly had good progress my first week. I still think the food is terrible.

The scrambled eggs are the worst, if someone told me they came from a chicken I'd probably call the health department.

The pancakes are both dry and chemical tasting, but a little bit of sugar free syrup helps a lot.

Banana pudding also tastes chemically but is my favorite of the pudding's.

My favorite foods by far are the pretzel sticks.

Also I went on a Motorcycle ride on the weekend, the group I rode with met up at Bobs Big Boy where they had a delicious looking (and smelling) breakfast bar and at the end they were at an Irish pub where they also served (what looked to be) good food. Sitting there watching people eat regular food was not my favorite thing.

A couple tricks with the eggs that I found. Cook in 30 min intervals in the microwave while stirring in between cooking. Do this for a bout a min & a half or until consistency is right. Add 2 tbsp of salsa & you're ready to go. With the pudding I add a little extra water and make it in the MF container. This allows you to shake it and get a more tasty consistency. Then you can chill for 30 mins if you want it thicker. Depends on how much prep time you like to do w/your food. With the soup I do a almost the same as the pudding 1.5 minutes 1 or 2 hours before eating. This allows the noodles and vegetables to get softer. Then when you're ready to eat just warm up for one minute and you're ready to go.
