Good morning, friends!

It's another morning in Paris, and wife and I are getting ready you another adventure filled day.

Yesterday, we decided to skip the markets and go find the "American store" in Paris. It's a little store called Thanksgiving, and it has a nice selection of foods, candies and other stuff from the US. Wife being American and me having lived in the US for 6 years, it's a nice treat to go shopping in these stores.

Wife found a ton of candies, mostly for daughter, but also a little for herself. Me? I just got a couple of these babies:

It's been ages since I've had a root beer, and the diet ones aren't bad at all.

We also went for a quick peek at Notre Dame, since the Thanksgiving store was right around the corner. We only stayed a few moments, as they had mass. It was beautiful. An amazing choir and organ music.

I have DEFINITELY gotten my exercise done on this trip. The travel Friday, along with morning walk and exercise clocked in at 12000 steps. Then walking the market and the surrounding area Saturday gave us 10000 steps. Here, it's worth noting that my pedometer doesn't register "shopping pace". If you only take a few steps, then it simply doesn't count it. We spent about 8 hours shopping, being on our feet at all times except for the lunch break.

And yesterday was so fun! Learning that the Thanksgiving store was close to Notre Dame, and that the big Chinese market was 7 kilometers further south, we decided to walk there over the course of the day. It's a total of about 15 kilometer (almost ten miles). We walked from 8.30 am and until 5:45 pm, only sitting down for a cup of coffee, for lunch, and later for smoothie and ice cream. This walked clocked in at 22000 steps on the pedometer! I think this is the longest I've ever walked to go have Chinese food. :-)

And what great food it was. I think I was low on protein (having only had baguette with a little cheese for breakfast, because I was craving mealtime crazy, and so was Wife.

We had a nice combo with Pekin Soup, then white rice and a mix plate with amazing quality Chinese BBQ. It tasted amazing and it was JUST what the doctor ordered.

After dinner, we came across a little cafe with good ice creams and smoothies. We just couldn't resist. We did regret later, as we were so stuffed we could barely walk.

This made us decide to skip dinner altogether.

I did great on my calories again. I totaled at 1400. Again, I could have had 3000 and it would still be okay. Technically, I could have 4800 calories the next two days (each day!) and not do any damage! Wow! Obviously, that's not gonna happen.

So, right now we're heading to go eat breakfast. I'll have my usual one baguette with cheese. I don't really feel that I need more. Besides, the food there is simply not good enough for me to go nuts. It's simply a matter of satisfying hunger, and keeping me going until a hopefully much more interesting lunch that will be with spending calories on.

We're heading back into the markets, and there are so many cool little restaurants to choose from. Why waste calories on white bread if you have food from twenty nations waiting for you next door?

Since it's still early, we'll be hanging out at the breakfast table for a while, having coffee and enjoying the complimentary hotel wifi. :-)

Today, I'm thankful for:
- An amazing and fun walk through Paris yesterday. What a blast!
- Wife for being such a sport and doing the walk with me. That's true love!
- Morning coffee! Even if it's french.
- Markets, markets, markets!
- A feeling of total control when it comes to my meals. I haven't even needed the protein bars that I brought to fight hunger or snack urges on the go.

Have a great day! Life is good!

Tony, I highly recommend it. We're mostly staying away from the touristy stuff. There are a lot of other cool and very different things to see, do, experience and eat here. :-)
