UPDATE: YEAH!! Insurance approved me for surgery! WHOOP! Getting lapband out on MAY 21!!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOO! JUMP UP AND DOWN!

YEAH, In a new number today 149!!

Does anyone take any sleeping meds from time to time???? I have really sucky sleep and I am sick of it, but the doctors won't give me anything.

I'm like... ME, no meds! The girl that doesn't drink never did drugs, uhhh let me sleep please...

Well, I hate going to so many doctors, but I think I might make an appointment with the sleep lab cause I know they would give me something hopefully.

One good night sleep would be sooooo sweet.

HEY, just realized, the only time I really eat poorly/carb binge is when I am tired! The more carbs, cake, junk I have in me, the easier it is to comatose myself = good night sleep. Well, that is NOT going to happen. NOT THIS MONTH!!!

Anyways, any sleep specialists out there :-)

Already tried melatonin, valerian root, Tylenol pm, magnesium and probably something else, but I can't remember. I was too tired.

I take hormone pills-have to take them at night because they knock me right the heck OUT. Only works if you need them though (progestium)

deep relaxation hypnosis? hehe

Personally I have a glass of wine before bed if I'm having problems. It seems to relax me enough to make me sleepy. A friend of mine found Melatonin capsules at the vitamin store. She takes these a half hour before bed and she claims they put her out. Magnesium and calcuim is supposed to help too.

@lindsy: I actually thought about that last night! I was too lazy to go get my headphones for my phone to listen to that hypnosis app I downloaded! maybe tonight!

@dairyfarmer: oh ya, wish I could do the alcohol, that just leads me to a second glass of wine hehe and then to the fridg to eat! Alcohol supposedly disrupts the natural sleep cycle as well. As for the magnesium, that is a great suggestion! That is the one I forgot to list, I take up to 1000 mg at night. At first it really helped! That is a great go to for anyone who hasn't tried it!!!

@collymp! AHHH, thanks for reminding me! I might go back to the doc and ask them for that! I haven't taken that in over a year, but as I recall, it worked really well. And at 44/gong on 45 next month, that is the age for progesterone supplement! I am not having all my bloating swelling boob problem now which is why I went on it in the past, so still looking for something that I don't have to take daily and they only have me on progesterone half the month. Are you on it daily?

I have the same prob, Lizzy, and I take calcium and magnesium just before bed. It really does tend to put me under after reading for 15 to 30 minutes on my Nook Book. No other lights on... just the glow light nook book. Now I have (on occasion) taking a Benadryl. That stuff knocks me right out. The key is within 30 minutes make sure you are in bed. There is a window where you take the drowsiness and just go with it. I hate having sleepless nights but learned not to stress over it cause that makes it harder to sleep. No computer at night, no tv, just settle in with a book and be in bed so you can shut those sleepy eyes when the moment hits. Good luck.

Oh and congrats on the new number. YOU ARE GETTING SO SMALL!!!! ) I just keep reading and hitting reply .... sorry I took up all your spaces.) :)

@mom2boxer HAHA, yup found the vault, but didn't figure how to search it efficiently! Later... I think you made a good point, I take the Tylenol pm, or what ever, then I don't shut everything down cause my head is still on AWAKE.. then I get sleepy, and then I pass the sleepy phase and then wonder why it isn't working LOL. OK, be in bed, check, everything off, check, will do! Thanks for the encouragement! Super excited to move on to the last 30 pounds!!!!! I'm on a roll, but it is super hard work, I know dieting has ALWAYS effected my sleep, no matter what my calorie intake is, losing weight just keeps me up at night. SO, the sooner I get this over, the better I will be! I am learning not to stress over it, just get up the next day and do what I gotta do! Only a few more months till I can transition into maintenance. I keep telling myself to get tough and be strong, it is all worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Well sugar pie, I hate to burst your bubble but maintenance (I am told) is harder than getting the weight off. But HEY! I can't imagine how good it must feel wearing those little clothes and having this sort of problem to deal with.... I'LL TAKE IT!!!! HA HA!

I take xanax and a muscle relaxer tizanadine. They help although I'd like to get off the xanax and go to something more natural but haven't found anything YET. Haven't given up hope.

LOL all I have to do is watch Jay Leno and I'm out like a light..but some times I take a benadryl...for some it causes restless legs..Congrats on getting approved...:O)

I am so close to my goal that I fight HARD for every single ounce I lose. It is SO much harder now than when I had more to lose - I think maintenance will be just as hard as what I am going through now. I'll keep you posted. We are in this together.
