Hi, David! Don't let it get you down! [At least the scale is moving in the right direction...] Are you being religious about logging your food intake? I find that when I don't log it immediately after consumption that I often forget, or underestimate my quantities... That makes a BIG DIFFERENCE! One thing I've been doing which has helped me IMMENSELY over the past few weeks is keeping a journal not only of what you eat, but your level of hunger [1-10 rating w/ 10 being starving!] mood [neutral is 5 then 1-10 with explanation of emotion.. bored, tired, lonely, depressed, discouraged, anxious, etc..] then record your satisfaction level... this is how you feel AFTER you eat... [just right, too full, stuffed!, still hungry, guilty, ashamed, regretful, etc...] This has helped me see patterns that were hidden from me before... so it helps me not to repeat the same mistakes over and over again! I do this journal in a separate document [in my notepad feature on my computer] I just keep it open and keep adding to it; [saving it after each entry should something go awry with my computer...freeze up, loss of data, etc...] Anyway, give it a shot! It has really enlightened me! Also, how are you doing with Diane Petrella's Living Lightly program? Have you been working the plan/program? I think if you can get into it that it will also help you along your journey... I know it's discouraging not to lose weight... as a matter of fact, when I weighed in yesterday morning [which was a day early for my schedule, I had gained 2+ lbs,] and got so discouraged, disappointed, and depressed that I tossed all caution to the wind and overate like a pig yesterday! Then when I weighed in this morning [on the right day/time,] I was back to 154.4 [my previous week's weight!] If I had not 'strayed' yesterday, I bet I would've been down to 152+lbs... just goes to show ya, not to let your emotions rule your appetite and food intake! [This is, of course, documented in my emotions journal... so, once again, I can view the error of my ways...] My back is 'out' so I, too, have been unable to exercise since Friday.. hopefully Monday or Tuesday I'll be back on track... [have you tried the walking video with Leslie Sansone? Check it out on you tube... look up walking exercise videos and she's right there... you can do 1,3, or 5 mile stints with her... it's a good workout, and about all I can physically handle, as I have had 4 back surgeries and have 2 foot long steel rods in my back... [It's a wonder I can even walk AT ALL!] So, in conclusion, I wish you well, and hope your ailment goes away, allowing you to work out the best you can... Chin up, and don't EVER, EVER give up!
