Have to lose this weight. My legs and back make it almost impossible for me to exercise, so dieting is what I've got to do. Went to store and bought up a bunch of diet meals as I'm not able to stand for long and cook. Gotta do this. My blood pressure is in the stroke territory and for the first time in my life I have to take meds for b.p.

Good luck to you. I started here for the very same reason when put on BP med #2. I've lost 40 pounds and am working pic 20 more to reach my 1st weight loss goal. I encourage you to walk...... The first walk I took was so hard I was sure I would collapse before I got home. I maybe walked 1/3 of a mile round trip. Now I walk over 2.5 & up to 3.5 miles a time, 5 days a week. I have way less back pain & most of the numbness I had in my legs is gone too. Even if you walk only 5 minutes, it will get easier faster than you think.

Thanks for your encouragement. Today we had to get bloodwork done and then do some shopping. I did walk from the car to the hospital and back (not a long walk, but an exhausting one nonetheless. I had knee surgery last year and I have severe arthritis. So I hurt a lot. My doctor said I will need total knee replacements. I'm hoping to lose a lot of weight before I have to get that surgery. Could not walk in the store (WalMart), had to use the electric carts (thank God for them!). I was exhausted and hurting by the time we finally got home. I am planning to join Weight Watchers just to have the support at the meetings. My husband and son are dieting with me. Live out in the country so no good places to really walk, but I do try to get out and walk a little. What kind of vitamins do you take? I picked up some B12 at the store hoping to get a little more energy. Plus I take a multi-vitamin daily. Best of luck to you!

Also take some omega3 and antioxidants. I also recomend eating pure foods. NO PROCESS foods also drink non swweten green tea, that will speed up your metabolism. Comsume many small meals through out the day verses few small meals! Hope that helps! Good Luck! I know it is hard, food is a drug so if you get a craving for something, have a few small bites then you will not over indulge!

Thanks for the advice. I will look for the omega3 and antioxidants. Don't care for green tea...lol. Tomorrow I will be home all day so I can really work at eating more small meals. I am eating processed food as I just can't stand long to cook. But I am eating the Weight Watchers Smart Ones. We were at WalMart this morning after hospital and we hadn't eaten and I was very light-headed so I got the sausage-egg mcmuffin meal with a small cup of coffee with one creamer. This is not something we do a lot. I could hardly finish my dinner, however, because I was actually feeling full! Don't think I will eat anything more this evening. Wishing I will see a "little" drop on my scale in the morning, but won't hold my breath. This is a great site, getting a lot of support and feedback. Thank you all for everything!

I understand that you are trying to make do with what you can do! I understand that you cannot stand for a long time so you are eating frozen meals. Try eating more fruits and vegetables. Invest in a Goroge Foreman grill, so you can grill meats and seafood fast and you really do not have to watch it. Also get a rice cooker with a veggie steamer on top, that way you can put the rice and veggies to cook and not have to watch it. You do not even have to be home when the rice cooker is on. You can even make a lot of rice and freeze it, once it is cooled, then later pop it in the microwave. If you cannot get a rice cooker, then buy microwaveable veggies and rice, it is better then frozen meals. Try not leaving the house without eating breakfast, then you will not be forced to eat fast food; I always keep snacks with me, be raw almonds, cereal bars, dried fruit; that way if I start to get hungry I have something to snack on. Green tea is something that people have to get use too, try sweeting it with honey or agave nectar, with the tea is hot, that way it blends easily. Let me know on your progress, just do not give up if you do not see a drop on the scale!
