???? so according to this website, resting for 8 hours burns 791 calories... but according to my pedometer, an 8 hour work shift of waiting tables (lifting trays and running around like a maniac yada yada yada) is 12,072 steps, 4.38 miles and 524 calories burnt...

how does this make sense? and which one here is wrong? I'm thinking a body at rest is probably not burning more calories than one moving.... hmmmm??

That pedometer reading seems really low for that level of activity. A heart rate monitor would be more accurate. Just use the pedometer to track your steps. Typically walking a mile on flat ground is 100 calories. Standing totall burns calories.
