I don't want to weigh in lol. A couple weeks ago the scale said 153 for a couple days in a row so I recorded it and then it jumped to 156-157. Now I have definetely noticed a 5 pound or so difference throughout the day but I try to go off the weights I get first thing in the morning. Today it said 150.8 but if I record it and then tomorrow its 155 it's going to throw off the weight tracking. I am really beginning to despise the scale. Jeans are fitting better so why if you participate in a challenge must we do the weekly weigh in! Grrr.

A loss is a loss. They're fun to have, but you can't expect one every time. I say record your weigh-in, and if you have gained next time - just remember that this might have been a fluctuation. If you haven't gained, just enjoy it and record it again. :) it's only a number.

The scale is just a tool and there will be fluctuations. Probably if you took an average of your weigh ins over a month you would find a better guide to any weight loss (or gain :( ). if clothes fit better then perhaps that should be your guide :)

Well, we're becoming buddies just as I decide to stop recording every bite I take. I seem to be stuck and want to take a break...I'm still around, still going to be eating mindfully, just want to break out of the rut I'm in. I totally get not wanting to weigh in every week. As you can see, I haven't done it for over a month...believe me, though, I know how much I weigh, lol :-) Anyway, I do check in here every day or so. It keeps me going to read what others are doing. I wish you well! It looks like you're making good progress, so hang in there!

Yea, weight can easily fluctuate throughout the day and day to day. Use the scale as a one of the gauges of your progress. Use your clothes and the mirror as others. Don't sweat it! Just keep working towards your goal!

Yes, thinking I'm putting the scale away and only bringing it out on weigh in days. I feel healthier, my clothes fit better and the scales just an irritation lol.

Ahh.. the scale .. how it jumps around as if it can read our thoughts and actions. Sure, a gain from too much food is valid but a gain from water retention, esp those when the muscles are holding water from exercise, can be discouraging. Just mark and move on; my scale went up at the same time my pants grew looser. It's just as tool, as CJ said; not the be all and end all of what's really going on with you.

For me, it's definitely water retention. I went to a bbq once, went to town on beer, brats, and beef and was 5 lbs heavier the next morn. I didn't sweat it because I knew that high sodium and carbs make me puffy! So then I went back to my normal eating and was back down in a few days. Normal stuff depending on my eating habits.
