Hi Hdp2102! I am in Phase 1 - two week mark is Thursday but my scale is not budging so I'm probably staying in Phase 1 for a while. How about you?

Same here. Been in induction off and on since 12.31.12. Idk how familiar you are with Atkins but in phase 1 nuts and seeds are not allowed. I looked at your food diary and have a few suggestions that may help. My thoughts are those could be sabotaging you. Try to keep your veggies between 12-15NC. The foods you consume should have no sugars added, I noticed you had like 12g sugar on your first food entry. You also don't have a lot to lose so sometimes those last few pounds can be stubborn to get off. I'm by no means telling you what to do, just suggestions. Also, the Atkins products tend to slow progress for a lot of people, even though they're there I maybe would try to steer clear of them for awhile and slowly add one in if needed.

Thanks for the tips :-) I just added my almonds and pumpkin seeds as of yesterday. I know they aren't on the acceptable list until after two weeks into Induction so I went without them from day 1 but with no weight loss at all I decided to add them in a few days early to try to up my fat and calorie count since that was a bit low and I honestly can't stomache any more olive oil, cheese, meat and butter than I already eat in a day! Raw almonds have been my go-to snack for the past 5 years and I really missed having them. If things don't start moving by Thursday, I'm going to take them out again. I'll have to take a look at the 12g of sugar to see where that came from - no fruit, sugar, starchy vegs, grains etc. I wonder if it's the Atkins bars? I heard you can have 2 a day in Induction as long as they are coded for Phase 1 - but I've also heard they can stall weight loss for some people. Good catch on that one!

No problem. Sounds like the bars could be the culprit. Are you exercising on a regular basis? Sometimes age and medications can have an affect as well so might keep that in mind if those apply. That turkey you had was almost 4g of sugar. Is that lunch meat? Some say to stay away from lunch meats due to sugars, I think they may go to the deli and have stuff carved off a meat block instead. Gotta love Atkins with all the tweaking one must to to get a loss going. Lol

That brings up a question I have about this site. Since you've been at it a while, maybe you can help me. I'm confused about the counts for the foods I enter. For instance, the turkey. It's not lunch meat. I roasted a turkey and used the breast meat for lunches and dinners for the first week (froze even more for this week) I was going by the Atkins carb counter in the book and though it was healthy but when I put the numbers in yesterday, I was a bit shocked. How can plain old roasted turkey breast have that much sugar? I thought it was pure protein - totally confuses me. The Atkins bars were a puzzle too. The package says "2 Net Carbs" this site says 6 I came here because I thought it would be easier but it's really just making it harder.

There are many inconsistencies between the various carb counting sites. I was on Atkins and used their counter but it was way too buggy. Then after many suggested FS I decided to give it a whirl. When you start having so many different answers to where you are carb wise, it may be better to check out the USDA counts. Those will be the most accurate. The choices given on these counters are put in by people like us and maybe they were put in incorrectly. Sometimes I will use a variation of a food on the counter if it puts the carbs closer to where they should be instead of using the exact item if I know its incorrect. You're very welcome, CRCBN. :)

You're welcome. :) Thank you! It hasn't been easy but I just keep trucking along. Atkins is a tough one on me due to being an extremely picky eater but its the only healthy alternative that actually works for me. I'm getting married mid June and hope to be down another 20lbs by then.
