TJSloan's Journal, 23 April 2013

So, yesterday, I ended up with a migraine, which of course made the eye doctor visit to adjust my contacts so very much fun and my Nutrition class last night for 3.5 hours even more fun. But today, I feel better, and my scales says I lost another 0.5 pounds. YaY!

I have started taking Cinsulin as a supplement to help keep my sugar level throughout the day, rather than the spikes. However, I'm not sure that supplements are the way to go from what we have been discussing the last few weeks in class. The cinnamon in food, or the garlic that's natural in food or seasonings are the ones that help as opposed to supplements. I'm not sure I'm saying that right. So, let's put it this way: You can get toxicity from supplements, where as you can't get it from foods. Does that make sense? Niacin is known to help lower LDL cholesterol and raise HDL cholesterol. Niacin is found in abundance in foods like mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes. You can't overload on Niacin by eating those foods in abundance. However, taking the Supplement to lower bad cholesterol and raise good cholesterol needs to be done strictly under medical supervision, due to toxicity. So, the nutrients you find in food is way more healthier than the supplements you find in the grocery stores.

I agree. Doing it naturally is always better and less dangerous. I hope your doctor will allow you to do it this way.
