After so much motivation in the last 2 weeks, I have decided that I hate the scale. It is the most frustrating thing in my house. I usually weigh and measure myself every morning because i'm a little OCD. Now that I'm running 3 days a week, my body is carrying a lot more fluid, and I'm not seeing the numbers on the scale change. SO I am going to attempt to only weigh myself on wednesdays now... Yes a weird day to pick, but I'm going to a conference on sunday and won't be back home to weigh again until wednesday morning. Also this means that if I run on Monday hopefully some of this water weight will have shed by Wednesday morning. I'm also hoping I can keep on the diet well enough at a conference with nurses and nursing home administrators who all believe in a low fat high carb diet... I think I will be packing a cooler, I can't imagine the food they will be serving me will be edible.

I've found that it's better to weigh yourself once a week at exactly the same time. Since your body's weight can fluctuate 2-5 pounds a day, it can be incredibly frustrating to weigh yourself each day and see no progress. If you give yourself about a week, as you're doing, you can (hopefully) see the more long term changes.

Thanks Frizzy. That's what I'm hoping for. It's nice to be consistently below 150 now... but very discouraging when it gets so close again after a workout...

Everyone hits a plateau. Keep pushing forward and one day you will get on the scale and... BOOM! 5 lbs will be gone! weighing yourself once a week is probably a good idea too. :-)
