Gisme's Journal, 17 April 2013

Yesterday I jogged for 25 minutes straight and then five minutes. I did this after a Zumba class.

It was the longest I've ever jogged consecutively.

Now I am going to jog 4km at 5mph min every second day. It was my goal to jog 5km by June and it looks like I will actually meet that goal.

I think if I keep up this jogging I will reach my goal by September for sure. I may even exceed my goal and get under 130.

It is all I have anyways. Since my jog my spirits were greatly lifted and in my dreams come solutions to all my problems.

SO weird.

That is awesome!!! I just started the couch to 5k workout in 10 weeks. I want to be able to run a 5k in July, but there is no way I could run 25 minutes straight at this moment. I'm very impressed!

Good on you! Your progression plan to increase the duration and speed is working for you; so keep up the dedication. I also run regularly and what I have found most encouraging with this particular activity is that you can notice with each and every session your cardiovascular and strength shows some improvement! It's also the best calorie burner and helps clear your mind; as you've noticed.

Yes Josie, I think jogging is probably the best drug out there because it is the healthiest. When I first started jogging there was no way I would have thought in a few months id be up to 25 minutes straight. I have short little legs too so I love how it gives me this awesome feeling of accomplishment.

I know - running allows you to push yourself a bit further every time and test what your made of. It really has given me a huge mental boost in helping me reach my goal weight.
