I've been doing good on the diet up til 2 weeks ago where I have begun to cheat almost daily. I am sick of the Atkins diet and I want to eat what I want to eat. I want pizza, ice cream, pasta, homefries, pancakes, waffles, sandwiches, chips... I'm losing focus as to why I want to lose weight in the first place. And those reasons dont seem as compelling as my desire to eat foods that make me fat

I just got the 6 Day Makeover Book. It is specifically detailed to answers to questions regarding your energy and habits and body type. I am going to try it. It tells me at 45 going into menopause that I need to drop my calories and exercise some. But it says the exercise only has to raise my heart rate some for long period like a 45 minute walk at 3mph. It helps to burn fat. Atkins Diet is hard if you love bread and pasta. Try darker bread and whole wheat pasta in small portion so you dont feel deprived. Maybe every other day you can reward yourself for the previous days willpower with a small portion of pizza, healthy pizza or baby size cone of ice cream. I can understand the need to be thin but more importantly healthy and be able to make this lifestyle stick. I think I will just go with an overall change then say it will be a certain diet in itself. This 6 day makeover says you will drop a pant size and that just might give me a better attitude to get really motivated. Hope this helps. Think about focusing on the food choices more than losing weight. Certainly will change one with the other. Have someone else grocery shop for you so its not in the house to make and wear a necklace to remind you that you have willpower.Hold onto it while you eat.Everytime you eat a carb it will reinforce your need to eat more.Vicious cycle like a hamster on that wheel....Let me know what you think...Good Luck- Oswegowen

I appreciate your response. I will let you tell me what you think of the book after you apply it. I acknowledge that any diet will work, they all advocate to eat less and exercise, havent found a diet that didnt. I am not quitting just frustrated at the moment. Good luck on your meal plans and exercise. How many pounds do you have to lose?

Many diets also advocate eating your vegetables-- and LOTS of them. The problem I see with your diet calendar is that you eat lots of meat, meat is high in calories and sodium. Your RDI is high and you sodium is really high. Maybe try cutting your portions of meat and adding in its place more veggies. Having your plate 1/3 meat and 2/3 veggie is good. Vegetables are low in calorie and sodium too.
