GlennM's Journal, 10 April 2013

I saw a show that said swimming is a must for older people. And walking too. And deep breathing to bring oxygen into the brain to keep it well, and to stop eating overly processed foods too. I also heard on the show to help arthritis is to exercise and if necessary to strength train too as the bones in one's body will heal or grow if they're getting adequate exercise. I am swimming now in the therapeutic swim, which is helping already after one day.

60% of the brain is fat so good fats like fish oils, flax seed, extra virgin olive oil, etc. should not be limited at all.

Doing well. Maybe 4 miles of walking plus a half hour of swimming plus 2 1/2 miles of walking today. Tomorrow rain, but I am going swimming in the evening for an hour at the local gym pool.

The 4 miles of walking was yesterday. Every day I must walk or swim or work out. With arthritis it is extremely important as the bones in one's body and the muscles will actually grow even as one ages if they're used all the time. I will try some light weight lifting too for short periods of time too to keep going...

I read it on here to do lifting, it burns more calories and also I know muscles are better than fat in the body. And so when I go to the gym I will, if ever so slowly, it is a must. And I will only limit fats like olive oil if I am fasting that day.
