I'm incredibly angry right now.

I've been sick for about 2.5-3 days. I haven't had much of an appetite, and kind of ate poorly on Easter and then made sorta dumb choices on the day after (yesterday), but still stayed within my calories on Monday...

I have not been exercising because breathing has been impaired by my head cold and I have asthma so, I didn't want to try and push it. So I'm 1 day behind now. So, I wasn't do much physical stuff, and I was drinking a lot of water to stay hydrated.

I weighed myself yesterday thinking I was going to weigh in for my challenge. I was 149 something. I weighed myself this morning when I woke up, I was 150.6

What the hell is happening? I know that on Easter I did NOT eat something like 12000 calories. I hardly ate at all because I was feeling so crappy. I had probably 2oz of ham, some green bean casserole made with 98% fat free cream of mushroom. I had some chocolate candy (like 3 ~ 200 calories, maybe 250) and a piece of Angel Food Cake. Some potatoes. Everything we cook is healthy, so, everything used fat free or low fat or whatever to reduce it. I barely ate the full "plate" I made. I did not drink any alcohol.

I HAVE been drinking a lot of Musinex cough medicine. I don't know. Water + that? Am I really gaining so much weight? I honestly feel like I've been starving (because I made bad choices yesterday, but am working hard today to be better).

Also. Today I spent from about 9-1 working out on the lake doing muskie work. Hauling up nets and moving fish. It's not ALOT of work, but it is tiring. I mean some nets have a hundred pounds of fish in them. I love it, but I don't ever know how to record that kind of workout. It is calories burned, more than normal. All us fisheries people know that we'll stand to lose a few pounds when "field work" season begins (i.e, now) so... whatever. I guess I will put fishing for that time. And some of it is driving and whatnot. Dunno. It's tiring.
I get to do it all week though. I'm so excited.

Why am I weighing so much more on the scale? So frustrating. This is why I keep falling off the wagon. I make a tiny bit of progress down, and then all of a sudden the scale attacks me and I keep going up and up, even if I'm dieting and exercising. SUCKS. WHY.

Wish I knew the answer, but my experience too is that the scale can have a mind of its own. I try to not place too much importance on it & instead focus on eating well (which you are) & how my clothes and body feel. The scale can erratically go up or down because of water weight, muscle vs fat, when/how much you last ate, etc. So, I now only weigh once/week. It has been a really good thing for me as I was focusing too much on the # & letting it effect my mood. Just wanted to share whats worked better for me. Regardless, hang in there, get some rest & hope you feel better soon!

Thanks I really do appreciate that. I wanted to try and weigh in once a week on Monday but I'm really not looking forward to recording another "gain" only to show progress getting back down to where I was only a few days ago. The scale is evil, lol. But you're totally right. THANK YOU!

You are very welcome & I have to say it was really hard to get away from my daily weighing. I'd look longingly at that scale & missed the "high" of a good weight day. But once I got over the initial separation anxiety, it feels so good & my weight has stayed consistent. Hope you wake up feeling better!
