cookiebaker74's Journal, 02 April 2013

So I did ok yesterday, but today has sucked. I am so hungry! I work at a bakery and don't usually eat while I"m there, but I broke down and ate a donut. Ugh! I think it's because I know I shouldn't have it, so today I had to. It's a mind game.

One thing the diet tracker has shown me is I NEED TO CUT BACK ON THE FAT!!!!!

Oh, and shopping healthy is expensive!

Hopefully I can do better tomorrow. One day at a time.

I agree with your comment about "shopping healthy is expensive", but I also notice that not buying the junk food has kind of evened that out -- for me anyway. What do you think???? I'm much happier knowing my money is going toward items that are actually good for me.

I wish I could banish the junk food for good, but I have 3 kids and somehow it still ends up in my house! I try not to buy it because I know they need to make good choices as well, but I think their grandmas think they need to give it to them (ALL THE TIME). I will stay strong. I will stay strong. This is going to be worth it. (I just keep telling myself that)

Ah yes! I wrote that not taking into consideration that children might be in the house. It really isn't fair to not have a few "treats" around for them - or the husband or boyfriend. It is you changing your eating habits. It shouldn't be forced upon them. But in all fairness, they should try to support you too (and not eat these tempting items in front of you!).

They are good about not eating in front of me :) and my husband is very supportive (willing to TRY some of my crazy cooking concoctions), but I think I just blew it with my dinner tonight. I thought I would be good and not do spaghetti sauce (I made for my kids), but an oil based sauce instead (extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and lemon). I need to read labels more. I would have been better off eating the spaghetti sauce. This is definitely a learning process!!!!!
