moondove's Journal, 01 April 2013

I have been away from FS, but still on my WW Plan. So glad to be back here again!

I hope you all enjoyed your Easter... My Ogre bbq'd ham and brown sugared pineapple spears that we had with potatoes, salad, and a scrumptious homemade carrot cake, along with brewed sun tea on ice...

My Ogre hardly ever buys me gifts, but since I made him watch 'Hope Springs' with me, he has changed for the better, just a little bit more. First he decided that we needed a new fridge. I immediately thought about some of the scenes in the movie. Gosh, they sure have him pegged, I thought to myself... But then, yesterday, he brought me home a bouquet of flowers and I even got a kiss! :)

Last week, I got a phone call that my lil daughter (27) was in the hospital and the drs thought that she had a blood clot in her heart. I jumped in my truck and drove the 7 hr drive to SoCal. I got there at 4am. It turned out to be spleen/gallbladder related, and she has anemia. She saw a dr in Palm Springs who ran further tests and all seems to be ok. Since that scare, she is feeling better everyday.

Over the last year, my lil daughter had been under a lot of stress because her husband was laid off of his job. She works full time for the county and... she was drinking 'Rock Star' energy drinks (2 per day). Ugh... Thank goodness, now she can't even look at one(gets nauseated). I am soooooo glad. Snicker Snicker!

I'm glad Daughter is off the Rock Stars... though it's an unpleasant way to ween off them. And it's great to see you back, and hear that things are good. :)

Good to hear that your daughter's illness is relatively minor. Hope her husband can get back to work quickly. I know the stress of being the sole breadwinner and it is not pleasant.

So glad your daughter is okay! I think any kind of "energy" drink is dangerous! Hope things continue to get better for her and her family. I really enjoyed reading the first part of your post. Thought it was cute! You got a sweetheart for sure!

Kingkeld, Thank you for your kind thoughts. Before Rock Stars she was using the 5 hr Energy drinks, when they didn't work for her anymore, then the other. I am so glad she can't even think about them anymore.

Buffy, Thank you... I am so relieved about my daughter. Way too young to be dealing with stuff like that. All that those Rock Star drinks did was help her to put on over 15 lbs in a year. She is slender and beautiful, and now that she will not be drinking those, she will lose about 450 empty calories a day.

Becky, Me too! Yes, I agree with you about the energy drinks. My daughter has grown up with a heart murmur, which is not a big deal by itself, but adding the drinks and just sitting at a desk working all day is bad... Hee! Hee! He is a keeper! :)

Hey SB Glad to hear DD is feeling better, I can't stand those energy drinks my DD drinks those too, in fact had an issue this weekend maybe I will tell her I can't stand that she drinks them. We watched Hope Springs as well...didn't do anything to my Hubby I think he is way past and oblivious to how we are. I wish he would be more caring or at least show it sometimes maybe just ask me how I feel. Oh well Hope sprang and leak here LOL....SB xxx

Sounds like you had yummy holiday! And checking my Netflix I see two Hope Spings movies. Which did you see? I'm thinking it was probably the newer one with Meyrl Streep but there is the United Kingdom version too. I've seen neither just yet but I've put them on my que *smiles* And thank you for dropping by my journal. Here's hoping the economy/work situation improves soooon! (((HUGS))) ~Dianna

Ruby, Yes, our Easter dinner was very good. About 'Hope Springs', yes, it is the newer one with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones in it. Maybe there is some co-ops that you can contribute to, so that you can get your whole foods. When my baby sister (11 yrs younger) gets back from Puerto Rico vacation, I will ask her about another source for you. Big Hugs (((((Dianna)))))

Thank you! I'm certainly open to any ideas I can get. I'm so limited not having transportation other than the local bus.♥ ~Dianna
