mars2kids's Journal, 01 April 2013

I managed to get out of bed this morning and get my workout done. My son has soccer practice tomorrow evening, so we're going to be starting the cycle where I won't have time to workout in the evenings because of the kids activities, so hopefully I can start and stick with the morning workouts.
I didn't eat too bad for Easter, I stuck pretty much with veggies and some fruits, I did have a little bit of dessert, but didn't over-do it. But, Friday we ate pizza and I had way too much, then didn't feel well Friday night until Saturday afternoon; I don't know if it was the pizza or the stomach bug my son had. Once I started feeling better I ate a bunch of junk, so that wasn't good and I got no workout in during the day because I wasn't feeling good. Ugh!
I'm hoping since we aren't going to be too busy or out of town this weekend, I can record my eating here so I can keep myself in check. I never record on the weekend and I know that's part of what's keeping me from losing. For some reason weekend=eat junk, and that needs to stop.
Well, here's hoping this week will be a change for the better!

When my daughter has soccer I always walk around the fields. Seeing as there are only 2 fields I got alot of laps in. She was absolutely horrified for a while but then some of the other moms joined in so it wasn't just her mom lapping the field yelling "Go HONEY!" And I'm happy to report she didn't die in the middle of the field like she kept claiming she was going to do. Is it wrong I can't wait till she is a teenager so I can really mess with her?

LOL! Luckily tomorrow is just practice, so I'm thinking I'll walk laps around the field too. Maybe I'll tell the hubby that for games we shouldn't bring our chairs, we should do laps and watch the game. That's a good idea. My son thinks it's great when we yell for him, my daughter gets mortified. It must be a girl thing. I keep threatening my daughter that if she doesn't want to acknowledge me when her friends are around, I'll make sure they can't miss me when I'm giving her a big kiss on the cheek with bright red lipstick, wearing hot pink leopard print pants.

Tube top!! Yeah that's perfect! I have the pants already from the white trash themed Christmas we did this past year.

I am slowly trying to conquer the "ruin all your work during the week by pigging out on the weekend". I think alot of my problem is boredom eating when I'm at home. It's in the cabinet, so I think I need to eat it. I do good if I'm out and about instead of at home. I'm less likely to eat bad if I keep busy. However, some days I'm just tired. So watching t.v. and eating seems the perfect way to entertain myself. But it's slowly getting better, I am seeing less of a gain on Monday mornings than I used to.

Hollipop, I am with you, I think a lot of mine is tired from the week and boredom. I do much better when I'm busy on the weekend too, but I like to veg out and do nothing after a busy week, so it's making myself get off my butt and do something other than got to the cupboard for junk food that is a struggle too.

I think everyone struggles with weekend eating. During the week, I can plan breakfast, lunch and dinner within my RDI but on the weekends we usually go out for dinner, I eat bigger portions containing more sodium and drink less water. So even though I'm more active on Saturday and Sunday, I still see a gain on Monday and spend Tuesday and Wednesday losing the same weight from the week before. Ugh!
