beth736's Journal, 29 March 2013

so iv done really great for the month of march lost almost 20lbs. but i have lost this same 20lbs over and over and over and i guess im afraid that i wont loose any more then that. i have not been able to get below 220lbs in 20 yrs my weight either stops dropping or i quit trying. i guess its hard for me to imagine myself any smaller then i am now because i have failed at loosing this weight so many times in the past. now that i am back to pretty much 220 shy 1lb i wonder if when i step on the scale next week if it will be below 220 or if i will be disapointed i dont know that is what i feel at this moment. i really want to be at 200 when my daughter graduates in june. i dont have issues with the way im eating at this point yet. just my thoughts wanted to get them out there.

I think a lot of us here understand this Beth, Losing weight is hard. Period. And sometimes I think we sabotage ourselves with negative thinking. I know I did that for a week now because the scale isn't moving and I never had that happen on a Atkins diet before. So I have been pretty down myself. But I decided that today is a new start. I didn't cheat or eat things I shouldn't have so I am just really back on plan again. I don't always eat the 20 net carbs everyday. I don't know how much difference that makes but I do know the closer I was to 20 carbs the more full I felt. Trouble is I never really felt hungry. So I have cut back a bit. I know you can do it! If the scale hasn't moved don't feel badly just stay on track even if it takes more time than you want to give it. Sometimes we hit a point with anything that we just have to keep on shoving until it MOVES!!! So keep on shoving Beth !! You can do this!!

I know exactly how that feels. I felt the same way. But, you can do this! Just follow the plan every day, and I promise you'll see results. 12-15 net carbs from veggies (preferably green, leafy ones); 3-4 ounces of cheese per day; be wary of packaged/processed meats (they do have carbs); limited amounts of sugar-alcohol (from bars/shakes/diet sodas/sugar-free stuff); and drink lots of water. You'll be amazed at how much you'll lose in inches and pounds. The way I see it, all of those days are gonna go by anyway. You might as well be losing as they do :) Hang in there, believe in yourself, and don't give up! :)

Beth I said the same thing tonight at supper! I am so sick of salad right now. LOL! So I will have to make it more interesting. I hard boiled some eggs and will probably have a chef salad tomorrow. I never get tires of those!

We have definitely all been there. Try looking into changing up you meals a bit. Like Merrywinkle said, add a little something different to your salad. It helps. I have been eating eggs for breakfast every morning for the past two months. I haven't gotten tired of them yet because I vary what I put in them. I'm curious, what are you doing for exercise? If you're hitting a plateau, you might need to try something different there too. Look into the challenges and see what appeals to you. I am doing a couple of them right now and each one works a different area to keep me burning fat and calories. No matter what, try not to get discouraged. We're all in the same boat here and we're here for each other!
