Good morning, Fatsecret!

Happy Easter - or, as it's know in my part of town - Zombie Jesus Day!

Yesterday went well. It was generally a pretty good day. I stayed occupied, and I once more had a day where I literally didn't feel that I was missing out on anything at 600 calories per day.

I still feel NO fatigue. No tiredness. Nothing.

I went to the gym yesterday morning, and I did the usual rounds. I did have ONE machine that I needed to lower my weights on, but this one is always rough on me. Other than that I was no more or less exhausted than I usually am.

The rest of the day was spent working and coming home to relax a bit before bed. Oh, and some cooking. I will get back to that in a little bit.

So, Easter is upon us. This is a challenge. There will be no work to distract me. There will be lots of TV watching. There will be little to nothing much to do. All stores are closed, except for Saturday.

So, this is the time where I would usually be happily munching away all day, every day.

Well, not this time. I come prepared. I will maintain a 600 calorie RDI through the days, except for Saturday or Sunday, where I'll have my Indulgence Day.

I'm gonna knock this one out of the park.

Yesterday evening, I made tomato soup. Tons of it. 10 lbs to be exact. I LOVE tomato soup, and this will be my secret weapon.

My logic is simple: If I want to succeed in 600 calorie days, then I need food that is SUPER low in calories. 300 grams of tomato soup is 75 calories. Nothing. This will be great for lunch, for example, and it will give me the option to have something better and nicer for both breakfast or dinner.

OR: I could go with soup for breakfast and lunch, have good dinner AND maybe some fruit throughout the day.

Point is, it gives me a lot more options to have something like this. It's tasty, fulfillling, healthy, and everything inbetween.

The soup is made with tomatoes, mushrooms, cabbage, bell pepper, onions, garlic, and a ton of spices. Not bad, huh?

Today, I have also arranged with my friend that we'll meet at 10 am for a walk. We're gonna go do at least 5 kilometers, to waste some time and to burn some extra calories.

Normally I stand up at work – even if I have a desk job – and I burn a few hundred extra calories doing this. However, this is taken away from me for the next 5 days, so I need to do other things. Obviously, I'm gonna go hit the gym some of the days – something like every other day (maybe more), and this should help me keeping going. I also have my stationary bike for any spontaneous spurts of energy, but honestly I don't see myself using it much. I think and hope that gym and walks will be sufficient, along with the strict food regime.

Quite some time will be spent playing bass too. I have a lot of practicing to do. We now have 10 songs in our setlist for Burnin' Live, and I got some Peanut stuff to practice too. There's plenty of work.

Another little musical project: The first Wednesday of every month there is a jam session thing going on a few towns over. We're gonna go again this month, my drummer Jack and I, along with our new singer. We were asked if we wanted to jam ”It's A Long Way To The Top If You Wanna Rock'n'roll” by AC/DC. A young kid with a guitar needed a backing band. The curious thing about this song is that it also has bagpipes on the original recording, and this dude found a bagpipe player who's gonna join us! How fun is THAT!? I can't wait to see how this goes.

I'm definitely gonna try to get a video camera on this and have it covered. If the recording is any good, I'll be happy to show here.

So, the plan for today: Breakfast, walk, lunch, tv, tv, bass, tv, bass, dinner, tv, relax, bed. Sound accomplishable. I just need to be focused on fun stuff, occupy my time.

And the weight? The Fat%? How about that?

Well, I am up a pound this morning, with a one percent drop in fat to go with it. It's just a fluctuation, no biggie.

It does annoy me though - I was hoping for something better, I'd like to weigh a little less, but a drop in fat is always good.

I am now at 87 kilos with 6.1% on the body fat. I am perfectly content with this.

Today, I am thankful for:
- Easter break!
- Well prepared. I'm having my first scoop of tomato soup for breakfast today, saving my calories for later in the day. My first portion is slightly smaller than what I have packed for the other meals - this is the last one that didn't really fill the bag - and it's 69 calories. I could have 9 more of these through the day! lol.
- Morning coffee.
- The outlook to a nice walk in 4½ hours.
- ...the fact that I am seriously contemplating hitting the gym in a few hours too. :)

Happy Zombie Jesus Day! Life is good!

I call that soup cabbage soup. I lost 8.2 pounds in 8 days doing it. The problem is that it's been about 5 days now since I have had any loss at all. I watched calories closely but nothing. I went back to the soup again and actually gained a pound. I do not get it and I'm totally ticked off lol. I so want to say the heck with it. Good Luck to you sir!

Beware5289, I know about the cabbage soup diets. Generally, I am against the type of diets where you have to eat very specific things, like the soup. For me, it is entirely a way to go low on calories through easter. If I was to do it every day, then I'd last for no longer than a few weeks. A weight loss journey has to be sustainable, you have to be able to keep going. I'm simply using it to meet my ridiculous goal for the holidays - to test myself and to learn something new about my body. I also see that I haven't really moved my weight anywhere the last few days, but as I don't really know anything in the territory I am moving around in these days, I'll give it some days and see how my body reacts to it. I still have today (thursday) and tomorrow before an Indulgence Day. Let's see what weight I end up at.

I just keep on looking at your 'Lost so far' number: LOL you have lost a whole ME! Your awesome :)

That's true Schmetterling34. And I'm proud of it. But you know, the goals are always ahead of you, not behind you. I've done so much - but I want to do this last little bit too.

I'm definitely reaching my goals today. First, soup for breakfast. Then gym. Then walking. Then soup lunch. In a few, it's time to play some bass. Then after some hours, dinner. All WELL under 600 calories. I might even have room for a (reasonable, and probably fruity) snack. :) Life is good.

So glad you are reaching all your goals!

I love tomato soup too. But w/o the veggies. LOL Too bad the tomatoes don't love me more.

IMO tomato soup NEEDS veggies. Otherwise it's no more fulfilling than drinking juice. The vegetables are what keeps me full and satisfied.

Dumb question but how are you doing this without any protein? You have been at this awhile so I know you have everything covered and I would like to know how it works without protein? Really looking forward to the new Rock video! Have a great holiday!

Neptunebch, these days I just go with the calories - that's what I usually do, while attempting to eat a varied diet. Today is mostly the soup, but for dinner I'll be having beef, and a fair chunk too, but very low in fat. It comes with a very nice beef soup. I know it's not all the protein I need, but it's all I can afford within my "test scenario". I'm in no way hungry - not more than I would normally be about 30 minutes before dinner time (which it is now) - and it really haven't affected me negatively. Obviously, if I was to go on and on and on like this, it'd be a bad idea. This is not a "diet" that is sustainable at all. It's just something to learn more about how my body reacts. I am trying to see if I actually get hungry. So far, and we're now talking 11 days, 10 of which has had 600 calores, I haven't been hungry. I am pretty convinced that the hunger I feel right now is directly related to me smelling awesome beef soup cooking. :) Also, if I feel that it all goes south for me, I have both an energy bar and a protein bar ready with me at all times. I don't wanna get sick if I am out somewhere. I don't want to push it TOO far. But so far, it's all good. I have all meals planned for the day, and I am at 389 calories. Wild!

@kingkeld I only did the diet for 8 days, then stopped and ate low calorie then went back to the soup. I couldn't possibly stick to the diet for weeks lol. It was just a 'get me going' thing. I actually went on a date yesterday and had chinese food and woke to a pound loss today, go figure! But I'm back to a low calorie balanced 'diet'. I just have to change it up a bit now and then.

The balanced food plan is DEFINITELY the way to go. That is where the true results show. This is just as much a test of will power as so many other things. I AM looking forward to this being over, but I don't want to give up on plans that I already made. I am on a mission, to learn about my foods, hungers and habits, and this proves to me that I can live on as much or little I want a few days. I learn that it's no real biggie. Actually, I am done eating today and I am at 400 calories. I could go eat more, but I am full and satisfied. I don't feel that I need more.

...I've been thinking a little about the last comment I wrote. I have decided to have half - HALF - a protein bar. It's gonna bring me up to the 600 calories for the day. I don't think it's smart to go for 400. I want to feel okay in thi morning, when it's gym time. I have a long walk planned also. So I think it'd be smart to add a little extra protein, though it's not THAT much, and just enjoy a snack. I cut the bar into tiny pieces, so I have about 40 of them, and I can ieat it throughout the evening. Not too shabby, I'd say! :)

Happy Easter, Keld and family. You are awesome. The soup sounds amazing, the walk sounds even more amazing! so does the music. Good life I think, young KP. enjoy your holiday.

That soup is a great idea! I'm going to make some, be a nice change from salad for lunch. People who fast generally lose muscle as much as fat, so I kind of worried about you and the amount of protein. I'm glad you are watching it. I will be watching your progress, its very interesting. Thanks for sharing. Have good holiday!
