Very discouraged today. I got up and weighed myself and have gained 2 pounds!! I don't know how! Not TOM or anything! I thought I was eating alright and all that. Maybe this WOE is not going to work for me. Am I doing something wrong?? I was so upset today that I went ahead and had a little cake and ice cream at a birthday party and now I feel completely depressed. Maybe I am just meant to be fat!! I guess I will try to regroup and restart Induction on monday. I don't want to just give up. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Nchls, I was looking at your diet calendar. It looks to me as though maybe your fats aren't quite as high as they should be. From re-reading the book, protein WITH fats are key. Also, Atkins products are known to stall or prevent weight loss. Dr. Atkins does say they are "acceptable" but really, only when you really need them. I would try eliminating those first and see if that helps. Also, when you eat meat, make sure you have a "fat" with it even if it's just a small salad with some FULL FAT salad dressing. That's what I do anyway. I don't use any bars, shakes, etc. during the first two weeks of Induction but, a lot of people do. Some people do OK with them, some people don't. HI, I'm Lizzy, I was gong to say eliminate the Atkins bars as well. It looks like you are doing well and if you are logging everything, you should be losing. Everyone is different, Atkins is a big change for many and a way of life for some. I have done it, and it was way too hard for me, my body just didn't take to it. For sure add VEGGIES! I goofed this week and forgot to add enough and my weight loss stalled! Keep going, don't give up, you can do it. Make sure you have also had a recent checkup/blood work to make sure you don't have any low thyroid issues. I have lots of buddies on Atkins and their weight loss is slow, but steady (after their initial loss)

Thank you guys so much for the comments. I never thought about vegetables or fat I just kept telling myself protein, protein, protein. Maybe this is where I am going wrong. I do have thyroid issues and just had my blood rechecked and have a dr. appt for the results next month. I have my blood taken every six months so my synthroid can be adjusted so that could be an issue as well. I am just going to get up and keep going. I want to be healthy! I am still 40 pounds lighter than I was at my heaviest (245) and I should be happy about that, I just want to get under that 200 mark so badly.
