So. The new rules are:

Only one Soy Chai Latte a week (Thursday mornings, they're my can't-get-out-of-bed mornings)
No afternoon cookies. No matter what.
No consecutive days of chocolate fixes (I can't believe how many people keep this stuff around the office, yummy and killer)
More fruit as a side (instead of yummy jalapeno chedddar chips)
Take the stairs more

Not in the new rules? Still not recording what I'm eating. I know that works, I know I've had success with that, good success, and I know it's available to me for if/when I need it. But I don't want to have to do that for forever. I want to be able to teach myself how to be reasonable with eating without checking my diet calendar every day to see if I'm at, near or over my allotted calories. I'll give it..3 weeks.

So until the end of the first week in April. If I haven't seen the progress I want then, then I'll start recording. Promise.

Those sound like some pretty reasonable rules.. I hear you about not being able to have candy/chocolate around all the time. I went to a friend's house this weekend and she had a HUGE glass jar full of amazing candy - I'm like, how the heck do you not just eat it all day long???

I've tried to put out candy before - it doesn't work, I just eat it all. So I don't do that anymore. I don't buy Halloween candy (kids don't really trick or treat at my apartment anyways) or Easter candy (though have you ever roasted Peeps? It's actually kinda funny to watch). And this year I even resisted the conversation hearts. These small wins :)

I'm a salty snacker more than a sweet snacker, although both are ok. I find roasted seaweed is a good salty snack replacement for me. Totally get it on the Easter candy though. Love the new rules. You can do it!

I like both salty and sweet - though the availability of sweet is higher (I say this as I have made some white chocolate fudge last night for a pot luck at work today and it's sitting at my desk. We're going to have to move it soon) - I'm a bored snacker a lot of the time. I kind of like that living alone I can have as little food in my apartment as I want (and boy, are my cupboards bare :) ) So far the rules (3 days in?) are working well. Just gotta keep it up. When I see progress it will be easier to do so.
