12 pounds down! Wheee! This is going so much better than I ever thought it would, I can hardly believe it! I'm so glad my friend Missy directed me to this place, I would not be where I am without her! I am also very grateful for everyone here that has been so welcoming and caring, and willing to joke about silly stuff. What a wonderful place!

I'm in a fab mood this morning! Found a part of the coupon site I've used for ages, that lists by state, and then by store, what is on sale and what coupons are available to use on those sale items. This is going to be very useful for me! I'm essentially unemployable these days, so shaving costs so we get the most out of the money we do have is vitally important. In fact, I'm going to go out at lunch to buy a dozen bottles of laundry detergent for $2 a bottle with my coupons, and get 5 packs of razors

I still feel misgivings about getting things totally free, by the way, I always feel I should pay SOMETHING. But, I need to stock up on cleaning and personal care supplies, and nonperishable food. The less I have to buy during the sequestration furlough days, the more financially secure we will be if something comes up (and doesn't something ALWAYS come up when you're dead broke?)

In clothing news-I have one pair of jeans that fit well, now, and are no longer really too tight for comfort. My other pair of jeans, however...well they're technically "skinny jeans". At the moment they look like jodhpurs-big and baggy around the butt and thighs. The lower part of the leg just kind of crawls around as I walk. The waist is so big that the belt I use to hold them up is no longer working and is instead pulling them down. Cinching the belt tighter results in bunched up wads of fabric around the waist and a muffin top, and a baggy crotch, which is SUCH an attractive look. My husband, who of course finds this highly amusing, likes to catch me unawares and yank down my pants. Sigh...well he's a computer nerd, they don't let them run around loose very much. He still seems surprised that he's allowed to see me naked.

Oh dear. I just made one of my "trigger" foods. I didn't go too crazy, but...I did eat more than I feel comfortable with, both emotionally and physically. Rosemary/Garlic breadsticks. I had 4. that's...600 calories. In bread. With pasta sauce, made from our own homegrown tomatoes and canned last summer. And it was AWESOME.

Clearly I am not ready to regularly make any of my trigger foods! LOL! Oh well-the teenager loves them and he is an eating MACHINE so he cleaned those up for me. What a nice boy. Surprised I got my hand back after putting them on his plate, really.

BUT-I have roughly 500 calories left for the day, I'm understandably not likely to be all that hungry so while it's a bump in the road, it's a fairly minor one. I need to go get some salad stuff, I think, have a big salad and a SMALL bit of everything I've planned for dinner (pork chops, mushroom cream sauce, mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus). In fact, I'll probably just skip the chop entirely, pick out the mushrooms and eat a bunch of asparagus.

So would we call this a "planned binge"? I made it knowing I would most likely eat quite a bit of it.

Yay you ~ sliding down that scale with the sliding down jeans to match. I felt your 'issue' this morning - I'm the wrong body for the only pair of thrift store jeans I have in the closet that aren't loose and baggy - I know they're only $5 but I HAVE to start checking those things closer ~ they were bell bottoms for goodness sake!! I need bell TOP - I bet YOU could cut the legs open & resew them into something passable for lower body coverage but me ~ uhg. I sew with a stapler and a roll of duct tape! Ok - unsolicited old lady advice on trigger foods ~ when it's something you LOVE, eat it with LOVE. Slowly, full attention, undistracted ~ you know like when you were dating? Take the one slice of bread and cut it into small tiny bites and really enjoy it. I know, you can't do that every time if there's a time crunch but eventually you'll learn if you really LOVE it and it's a weakness or if it's just a vehicle for the homemade pasta sauce that could be enjoyed with a spoon. Gawd, I write like such a knowitall but I'm just sharing the things I've learned and pirated from others that have helped me get past the 'can't be trusted around the really good stuff' issue.

Which of course, is what you did with the cheesecake last week :-) Sorry again if that came off as a lecture. Now - planned binge? I'm not sure if we want to endorse such thoughts :-) That's like planning to break a bone, ya know?

Oh I loved it plenty-it sounded obscene in the kitchen! LOL! The cats didn't EVEN want to see what I was eating, they had huge eyes and were looking at me like "so that's what human catnip does...freaky"! LOL@the bell bottoms-what the heck, use the stapler and take the legs in, no one will ever know...then there's always the 80's punk scene version. cut the legs up the side, cut off the excess, and use safety pins to close it up again. Or get more jeans. I have denim in my closet to MAKE jeans but I kinda sorta want to save it so if I really need them I can make a pair really quickly.

You ROCK IT GIRL!!! mmmmm breadsticks. Don't beat yourself up for it. You recognized it, Chris left you with working fingers so you can go do some sewing and planting and possibly make more yummy foods for your guys to devour. As per Mike seeing you neekid.. he seems to know what to do with you when he's 'surprised', so I don't think there's much a problem in that area.

LOL-I did make more yummy foods! Pork chops, seared on the stove and then baked in the oven with mushroom and cream "hunter" sauce. Steamed asparagus. Mashed potatoes. I had very minimal amounts of each as I wasn't terribly hungry, feeling satisfied but not stuffed. If I get hungry later I'm having a bowl of salad, I have more than enough calories left in the day, but need to reduce the fat percentage a bit! LOL-it's been a buttery creamy cuisine excursion today!
