The best tip is to be strong and stop eating chocolate altogether, after a week or two you don't miss it anymore!

Try sugar free fudgicles or sugar free chocolate Popsicles. I think with south beach you can have a treat like this a few times a week. Good luck.

That would be an excellent tip if it weren't for the fact that I live in Italy - where you can't find sugar free fudgicles!! Obesity is not (yet) on the food industry's radar here so a lot of products that are available elsewhere are not here. Sugar free chocolate is available and actually tastes pretty good but of course does not solve the fat content problem...but if I can't stand it I have a small piece of that.

.I am from Canada and with the U.S. being so close we do get a lot of the products from there in the grocery stores. Although Diabetes is a terrible problem in all of North America. I don't think you have to worry too much about fat content on South Beach, It is about sugar which turns into fat, especially around the stomach...yuk. My biggest problem! Continnue to be strong. But I think a little treat once in a while will help you stay on the program.

You are so right! The ricotta desserts in the book are not bad, actually. My big problem is the craving for chocolate. I just need to wait it out and grit my teeth I guess. A while ago it was liquorice (another major weakness). I waited that out and it helped, so I am hoping the same will go for chocolate...
