CollyMP's Journal, 11 March 2013

It's MONDAY! Weight down again, after being up most of the weekend, so that's a positive start to the week!

The spousal unit scared me half to death last night. He went to bed WAY early, he was very tired. I was puttering around in my sewing room a couple of hours later and he walks by the door. I heard him check his blood sugar, say "oh shit" and start rattling around trying to get ice in a glass. His blood sugar had gone down to 50! He was slurring his speech and couldn't walk straight and had trouble finding his words. He's okay now, we've been through his low blood sugar episodes before. He went to work this morning as usual, but I'm fighting the urge to call and check on him every half hour. It's just that he was sleeping when it happened, I can hardly believe he woke up and realized what was going on and had the mental clarity to try to do something about it. He's going to have to start having a snack just before bed, I think.

Speaking of my sewing room-I've got new patterns, old fabric, and the two shall likely become one today and tomorrow! Cut out a couple of them last night-one is for a copycat version of the Old Navy denim "popover" shirt, one is for a knit top with some interesting asymmetrical lines and pleating on one shoulder. I've got the sewing mojo strong today!

Apparently today is my "attract twunts day"-two people on FB that are usually fairly nice are being somewhat short and curt with me, and I am not appreciative! One of them is complaining about what sounds like stroke symptoms, one is complaining about how cluttered her house is. Apparently "here's a list of stroke symptoms and as you have quite a few of them you should call your doctor" and "here's a website that can help you declutter your home in small increments" is entirely the wrong thing to say. Well then-sit on your ass and complain about it then, I'm sure that will REALLY help your situation!

I know I know!!! I shouldn't let other peoples bad day ruin mine, I know this! Some people just aren't happy unless they've got something to complain about, right?

Wow - he IS good, to wake himself up and deal with it! Amazing. You are incredible with that sewing! Yesterday I'd seen the cutest bag to go with my cute shoes but the seam was frayed (and it was the only one in stock)... come to think about it ... I wonder if someone had just traded in their old bag? But I turned it into the salesperson to get it off the shelf before some other shopper bought it and they tried to talk me into taking it with a deep discount with 'you could sew it'. I told them my sewing involves scotch tape or staplers. YOU on the other hand would have totally cleaned up with that. Thanks for stopping by my journal ~ my understanding is WOE is Way of Eating but I like 'Way of Excellence' - that would definitely be something to achieve. OH, btw - you went grocery shopping w/me, did you enjoy it??? LOL. I have this thing (confession) I do ... ahem... once a week I like to soak in my spa tub, watch a movie on my laptop (propped safely from the water) and have a snack. CEREAL. Dry cereal. And I've been arguing it because other than that I've given up all processed wheats. So I heard you as I stared longingly at the general mills fiber 80 chocolate go 'Okay Bella, drop the diva, you're doing Good Enough!' So I said 'yes colly' and dropped the box in my cart :-) They were good. Not as good as the cinnamon wheat chex but ... good enough :-) And Fiber too! Enjoy the sewing mojo after you check on the spouse!

Bella, you really could have SO much fun grocery shopping with me! I doubt we'd get much actual grocery shopping done, but we'd have a heck of a good time! Good Enough is really good enough, it IS! The Diva wants perfect, but perfect really only gets you a tiny percent better with a huge percent more effort and sacrifice. If you were within, say, 5 pounds of your ultimate goal weight, I might say go for Perfect Diva...though I probably wouldn't. If I got within five pounds I'd stick with my healthy eating and just say "if it goes it goes". Probably not the most helpful, am I? LOL!
