Mermaid83's Journal, 04 March 2013

So I've come to the conclusion that I need to attack my weight loss from a few different angles. So far, I've been only doing the math of my calories & exercising (calories burned). Truth is, I'm still eating out, still eating a lot of processed foods & diet pop. Today I watched a fascinating & eye-opening documentary called "Hungry for Change". Now, while I'm not so naive as to think that I will change the way I look at myself & food overnight, I can start to make positive steps in my daily life that will work towards a healthier me. For example, incorporating more produce into my diet is something that I can do more of for sure!

This documentary focused on processed foods & what's ACTUALLY in them & what they are ACTUALLY doing to our bodies. This film also talked about spiritual health & loving yourself. I stopped to think about what I hear inside my head everyday & sadly, most of it is negative. The experts on this show recommended that you visualize how you want to look (even post an old picture of yourself) & even place a note on your bathroom mirror saying "I accept myself unconditionally right now" & read it aloud to yourself while looking at yourself in the mirror twice a day for a month's time. I'm going to try this. I really don't think it could hurt at this point! Ultimately, I was glad I stumbled onto this while surfing the Netflix options today.
