I am having a really hard time getting to eat the right kind of carbs and I am finding it also difficult to give up my low carb creamer right now. I need other suggestions for my coffee, I just can not seem to drink it black right now. My scale is still not moving. But my calorie intake has been really low so I don't know if this helps at all.

Your "low-carb" creamer may not be as good as you think, despite it being sugar-free. While I don't have the product myself, I've read that the second or third ingredient is partially hydrogenated oils (aka trans fats). Even though the label indicates 0 trans fats, it's because they've made the serving size small enough that the measured trans fats come in at less than .5 g, so can be labeled as zero. You might try full cream for now, as you can afford the calories that come with it. As you move on, you can try some unsweetened almond milk. For now, just try to keep your menus as clean (fresh, whole foods) as possible.....leave the low-carb ice cream and Atkins bars for later in your journey. The bars are known stallers for some people due to their high sugar alcohol content and the sensitivity of some folks to those SAs. If you drop those products, you'll find you have room to increase your veggies, which should be 12-15 net carbs of the 20 net carb limit you're shooting for in Induction. Let's face it, if you get 12-15 NCs in veggies, that only leaves you 5-8 NCs for other foods....which isn't a lot! It takes everyone a bit of time to get the balance right. Good luck!

Splenda and heavy cream have made me coffee yummy again. Sometimes I top it off with a little bit of the cream whipped on top so I feel it is a bit special. And, for what it is worth, I wouldn't eat any Atkins products. If it comes in a box, I avoid it!

Yes, on all of the advice above, although I am guilty of using sugar-free creamer. The serving size is a tablespoon, but I use 1/3 of that (1 teaspoon), and it only adds .66 net carbs. It's certainly not how I prefer my coffee to taste, but I DO prefer wearing a size 12 jeans over a size 20 lol so I don't really mind. Making a change like this is a commitment, and you do have to sacrifice some things, but trust me, it's definitely worth it. I will have to say that, personally, after I've eaten my 12-15 net carbs of veggies, I don't really need much room for any other carbs other than a small amount of tomatoes, olives and avocado in my salad; a little onion, and about an ounce of cheese of some sort or sour cream. The rest of the time, I eat meat, and I can happily say that I haven't been hungry in 6 months :) Don't forget to drink lots of water, too. Very helpful when losing weight and just in general. Good luck :)

I use Land O' Lakes Fat Free Half and Half for my tea when I have it. I just figure in the carbs. You have to make sure that you are staying at around 20 carbs a day to get that "bump" start that helps get you into the burning mode. And just a side note...there is a school of thought that caffeine can have a stalling effect on some people. For me it does not stall me...acts as a diuretic.

Thank you everyone for all your help. I am not going to use the creamer anymore. I do have half and half in the fridge that has 1gram of carbs in it. I have also gave the ice cream to my grandson to enjoy. When I did this diet years ago it seemed to be easier for some reason I lost about 70 or 80lbs, but somehow I must have changed my lifestyle. I see that it is really like trail and error to get it right with me. Thanks so much for the comments, it helps me a lot to have some kind of feed back:)
