Went out and bought all organic, all soy, all yucky. Noooooo, I'm kidding, just trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to put on all these salads. No oil just won't cut it, I'd rather eat them plain (which it looks like I will be doing for the first few weeks anyway).

Excited about the nuts though, I love cashews, and got some pecan pieces and almond/cashew butter - peanuts not allowed until phase 2 in 3 weeks. Celebrating my last day of yumminess with an extra large Tim Horton's mocha with whipped topping..... aaaaaahhhhh.

I think the only thing that I will truly miss that seems weird to me is no bread, grains, crackers, bagels. But hmmm.... if this works then HALLELUYAH!!!! (I apparently don't know how to spell that, oh well.)

Just had to read back quickly to find out what you were up to... aha -- is that right that you're allergy testing? Must admit that I don't put anything on salad either really -- I usually grate carrots and mix with lettuce, so find that sweetens it a little! I wish you every success though with the new eating plan... yikes I know I couldn't survive without bread and pasta -- but good luck. I'm sure you'll find it all very enlightening and make some discoveries. :o)

I hope this new eating regime works out for you and maybe you will discover some hidden allergies or sensitivities that you weren't aware of. I've heard a lot of talk about how allergies play a big roll in weight gain. Best of luck!

For salads, I find a good low-fat dressing is a dash of olive oil, lemon juice, and dijon mustard--stir, leave for 10 mins and then drizzle on...it's great!
