FullaBella's Journal, 18 February 2013

Quickie today. I'm in a funky mood (yes, it's cloudy again) and I'm weary because I spent all weekend at a trade show to promote my business yet am sitting here bemoaning the customers all day because I'm weary from being at the trade show to promote my business. Yeah, that's just messed up.

No out-house epiphany today ~ just a gentle reminder to myself that being in charge of things doesn't make me in control of them. Like, life and death. My furbaby had a seizure this morning - she's doing ok but it had me reflecting on the whole 'I'm surrounded by sick things and can't seem to fix them' emotion.

I know the biosphere idea seems boring but I feel Karma or Nature was reminding me while I continue my pursuit to surround myself with 'living things' the things themselves need to require minimal attention; much like the palm and terrarium. So I am thinking Valentine (that was what I named the Beta) served a purpose to remind me of my aleady burgeoning responsibilities. Who knows?

Other than that I was reflecting this weekend at the trade show, while I was attempting to 'Sparkle, Neely, Sparkle' (( that's a line from Valley of the Dolls )) how I was NOT uncomfortably hot. Other women around me were complaining about the temperature in the room and in the past I grabbed my portable fan before anyone. But I was sitting there in a turtleneck and winterfest, jeans, boots and was comfortable. That was nice. For me at least.

I was casting around for other changes as I'm a week away from the six month anniversary of Operation Oatmeal. Need to work on updating my list so that I give the day it's due.

That's all. Going to go catch up on y'all posts and journals now.

"it had me reflecting on the whole 'I'm surrounded by sick things and can't seem to fix them' emotion." I love your insight, Bella. Sometimes I think I overthink things. You make me feel normal...let's be BFFs, eh? :-) Another thought...maybe the other women were feeling too warm because seeing you dressed up like Nanook of the North made them feel the heat. Heehee...but seriously, that IS nice that you were comfy in warm clothes. A sign of progress! WooHoo!

And PS...hope your four-legged baby is doing OK. I hate it when my animals are sick.

LOL Baxie - yep, we can be BFF's. I overthink EVERYthing. I'd like to blame it on being taught to play chess when I was really young it just ingrained in me a need to think 15 moves ahead at any given time but I do. I HATE it someones because I'm rarely surprised having already anticipated every possible outcome I'm usually right on ONE of them you know? I was thinking there must be some connection between the Nanook attire and the fact that I'm having trouble breaking a sweat exercising now ( when I first started in Dec I was dripping! ) Mommysdog is resting peacefully behind me ~ HATE that helpless feeling when she has a seizure (she's on pheno but sometimes needs a valium... I could probably use one too!)

Thinking of you & your furbaby, & so glad she's resting now! Brewing our tea soon -- guess I can make yours extra hot, since it sounds like you're cool (calm & collected too?!?). And, I'm eagerly awaiting your 6 months update -- you go girl!

Ah, I know what it is like to deal with a dog who has seizures. Our dog had them, albeit mild ones, for a good couple of years at the end of her time with us. I hope your furbaby isn't suffering. And I also know what it was like to always be the first one to break a sweat in a crowded room. Heck, the back of my neck would be drenched just standing in line at the checkout when I was heavier. Losing weight has many perks and feeling cooler is definitely one of them for me. However, when it comes to exercise, I find I sweat more now than I did before but I think it has something to do with all the muscle I have now that I didn't ever have before. It creates heat when it's in use!

Thanks everyone. Yay me... I just realized something while I was showering... "I'm no longer the hottest woman in the room"... wait.... LOL

Oh, I have no idea how to dress for temperatures...I go from HOT to chilly, to just fine and back to my neck sweating...It's not my weight, it's my hormones all crazy out of whack.

We all have our funky days...sometimes it is just weather related and sometimes life just seems to be a little harder. When I am feeling down, I usually have to spend a bit of time looking up... Glad to hear that your little furball is doing better. Haven't had a pet in years but I remember all too well, the feeling of helplessness when something would go wrong. Hope your day gets better and that a little sunshine eeks in to brighten it up a bit.

Yeah @DB, as MH keeps the temps around 65 here in the house, I dress in layers. I'm sure I was just 'thawing out' at the show... another day and I'd probably have been uncomfortable too. @Countess, thank you. Yeah, that's how it all started, with oatmeal, just to really lower my cholesterol. Who knew it'd last, huh? @Gwen - Today the SUN is shining and happy. We're supposed to get rain tomorrow so I'll definitely go play in my back yard tonight to enjoy it.
