Friday. Payday and the beginning of a three day weekend.

Did not get on the scale this morning. Got up a little late. Daughter called last night and so I was on the phone for an hour plus. No crisis for her which was good but she felt the need to fill me in in her 4 hour phone conversation with her brother a couple nights ago. If it isn't one of them it's another. Hard to tell what's going on. That son lives in our same town but we don't often hear from him. He has an alcohol problem too. His sister told him he needed to call his dad. He told his sister he calls but dad never calls him back. ????? So not true. If anything DH errs on the side of being too available to the crises of the adult kids! Any way, drama, drama, drama. I hope what he told his sister isn't true. He told her his "ticket has been punched." Reports he's been to the doctor and they think he has prostate cancer. He's 31. Of course he was drunk when he called his sister. Time will tell. Don't you just hate reading my journal? Always some major thing happening. Good grief.

But I ate well yesterday. I did indulge in a little white wine. No migraine for it which I'm happy about. I've been craving a glass of wine and just so,happened to have a bottle of Pinot Grigio hanging around from the holidays. Oh it was good! Still have some for tonight!

Work is just insane lately. I'm so busy. I only had phone appointments up until yesterday afternoon for today but then one of my moms wants to see me tomorrow. Should go without saying, she's in crisis. Of course. Fortunately I'm much better in other people's crisis than my own which gratefully has settled down quite a bit. We still have a lot of repair to do but that is life. Rupture is inevitable, repair is optional and I choose repair.

Haven't had a lot of time to see or talk to DH. Working opposite schedules does that. But he is also having a crisis at work. One of the employees has been put on administrative leave and apparently has quite a history of violence. Great. More drama.

However, I am grateful ... For

Good white wine.
Two days of consecutive healthy, light eating.
A job with health insurance, sick pay, vacation pay, and paid holidays.
A wonderful team of professionals to work with.
Being very good at what I do for a living.
Not slipping or sliding too much on the icy roads.
Having the commitment and focus to work on repair.
Decent sleep.
Being okay with being behind and very busy at work.
This wonderful place where I have such lovely company on my journey of life.

So another day for me of being kind to myself, reminding myself there isn't a hurry, being quite aware of how important it is for me to express in some way what I struggle with so I don't cause myself or the people I love unnecessary pain and drama. There is enough drama from outside sources, I'm thinking it isn't wise for me create my own! Hope you all are well. I'm envious of those of you who are headed to holiday and grateful for each of you! Take care!

I'm here if you need me girl..Praying all turns out for you...Love and Hugs..:O)

Sorry to hear about more family drama, definitely not what you need these days... well, you don't need that, period. Hope all those crisis will be solved, be kind to yourself in the process, don't forget to take care of you first. (((hugs)))

Absolutely will take care of me. Can't risk doing anything else. Isn't it truly amazing?

Carol, you have been busy! Doesn't it just seem like when we are dealing with one thing, others just seem to pile on out of nowhere? Glad that you have decided to let them resolve it and not take it on yourself. You need to take care of you...they are adults, be supportive, but let them take care of themselves. One of the hardest things in the world for me to do. I am a fixer...I want to fix all their problems and make the world perfect for them. I just isn't possible, and I am learning that they really can do it themselves. And for that I am grateful. Hope you have a wonderful you, my sweet friend, and I will continue to pray. HUGS!!!
