Happy Valentines, my friends!! Today has started out pretty low cal, my indulgences were my skinny mocha and a SINGLE Special Dark candy heart. We have plans for a steak dinner, I'm kind of saving my tummy for that. Not sure if we'll get to workout today after that. heavy food!! Maybe we'll eat early enough and be able to fit a walk in with the Dogga.
not much to report today. NOTHING going on work wise. Catching up with some old friends from a former team. Did a web based training requirement. Blah blah blah.
Yesterday evening was BUSY. Finished work at 3:30, changed clothes, went to church for Ash Wednesday (they had a revolving door kind of service which was muy convenient!), then hit the gym for a 45 min stint of cardio. Then hit Wendy's for dinner for me n chix, then stopped to unload at home with teen, then to pick up Kraken. Back home to eat, then we did valentines for Kraken's class, then bath, then bed for her, then I helped teen with a little classwork follow up, then she went to bed, then I got all the valentines stuff ready and put out for the girls and the card for hubby, then sat down for some Big Bang Theory (season 2) and making a bracelet for Kraken. She asked me for a bracelet with hearts, I wasn't sure that's what she was asking for, but it's what she got! The only crafty thing I was ever truly good at--the Friendship bracelet. So I found a pattern online and then sat down to make it. Took me about 2 hrs, and it turned out so cute! pink with red hearts and she wore it to school. Teen used to LOVE my bracelets and wore many of them at one time. I've made them with beads, zig zags, bordered chevrons, you name it. I even made me and one former coworker each a badge lanyard. Those took FOREVER, but they turned out really nice! We worked for Bank of America, so I did them in red white and blue. I learned from a rather crafty-oriented friend, but then very quickly surpassed her on the bracelet making. Bought a book of patterns, I have a big hatbox FULL of floss, beads, etc., and I have clipboards all over the house... LOL. I even have a small pair of scissors in the box so I don't have to go hunt for any. Every so often I'll get the crafty bug and make a bunch of them, then I'll put them away for a while. My niece loves them, too. I've made her a ton. She was a UT student so I made her one with burnt orange and white. GO HORNS! Sure they're not good for much, but they're fun, and relatively calming for me. I'm not a scrapbooking nut, I make bracelets. Also, they're fun to do with cats around... drives them CRAZY watching the strings move all over the place. TEE HEE (grins evilly) So now I've got a little bug, and will probably make a few. Especially if Kraken decides she likes them now and will wear them. I made her one when she was about 2 with Abby Cadabby colors (sesame street for those not in the know), and she wore it for about 15 min and then was done. Still has it somewhere, not sure where. I'm thinking I'll make one for her bestie, and she'll give it to her on their next play date. Teen tried to learn how, but kept giving up. She got a friendship bracelet book for Xmas, so maybe she'll take it up. She likes that sort of thing, and for her two besties?? I'm sure she'll cook something up. Maybe I can get her to do a bracelet with the name BIEBER in it for one of her besties... that would be funny!!
OK, I guess I'm done with my RAMBLE... every day, dang it! I try to keep it topical, my mind wanders. Sorry folks!!
