erica47's Journal, 12 February 2013

I'm not really sure what to set my rdi too. Today I set it to what the site reccomended at 2400 I believe. It felt like too much food. I've been glancing at others food journals and I'm going to set mine for 1500 for now and see how I do. Maybe I'll have to lower it. I feel good about sticking with my diet. Its kind of good timing for me with lent right around the corner. I like to stay away from sweets and pop this time of year.

With your active lifestyle, you could probably be ok going higher, but if 1500 gets you full and you're not freaking out with hunger, then by all means, stay there! Do what feels right and works for you! Looking great!

When I was 170 I ate 1800 calories a day and was still losing 2 pounds a week. Please realize your body needs more to function. A site I always recommend is http://scoobysworkshop .com/calorie-calculator/ great advice and if you have some time watch this http://youtu. be/QHHzie6XRGk It talks about how you can mess up your metabolism if you aren't careful. Sorry I always add spaces or it won't let me give you the linnks on here

I'd say don't go too low, but if you are feeling satisfied and not starving stick with it. The more active you are the more calories you'll need to keep up with the burn, but make the calories you do take in count. I know the site sets calories high, but you may start with a gradual decline and see where the loss starts being consistent so you're not cutting out too many calories. Good luck!!

I agree with iamachristianjesusfreak I wouldn't go too low at first; that could lead to bingeing. An RDI of 1800 sounds reasonable, but if in a week or two you don't see progress you can always change it. Good luck!
