I'm back and all is fine.

Thanks Buffy and Gwen for your concerns, much appreciated.

What a mess the weekend was. Overnight 28 inches of snow.
All went fine, I did not have a power outage though our community was hit pretty hard. The cable and therefore the internet gave out Friday afternoon, actually pretty early. iPhone is nice but still not a real solution. At least I was able to stay in touch with the world.
Eating went well, as I said before, did not have anything dangerous in the house. Bad part was, I did not move much. Was kind of the situation where you just want to snuggle up and relax. And that I did.

I was supposed to weigh in, stepped on the scale and almost fell off. I don't think it was correct. So, it has to wait a little bit longer.

The whole thing made me think, especially since Buffy is fighting so hard as well. Despite what they say I am sure calories count, cont more than it's said. If I don't watch them, I will not lose weight. So, Atkins is actually not different form any other diet or changes in lifestyle.
I am not going to switch to anything else since I know I feel a lot better with this way of eating. Also, it is a step to a healthier lifestyle, incorporating healthy foods and exercise.

I am aware that I neglected that all my life, maybe it has somehow to do with the way I was brought up or it is a flaw in my character. Sports/exercise was/is just not so much my thing. That's how it was all my life and it will take a long time before I can change it. Here applies the same thing we say about our weight - we did not gain it all overnight, how can we expect to lose it overnight. I will try, nothing else I can do and hopefully I will succeed.

Now I have to make a confession - I had one (1) Oreo cookie today.

This is something I still have not figured out how to stop it. Whenever I have finished a meal I have a craving for something sweet. Try to compensate with coffee or tae slightly sweetened with Splenda but it makes me think. Where is this coming form. I do have veggies with the meals, so there are carbs for my body to use. Why something sweet?

Jozetter, if you absolutely like something sweet (our German thing) try these, so easy to make, really good: Almond Cookies Sugar Free cookies: 2 cups almond flour, 1/2 cup granular Splenda, 1 tsp. almond extract, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 stick butter(Ingredients simplified) Ingredients 8 servings almond flour 8 servings splenda 4 servings almond extract 1 stick butter 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/8 cup chopped pecans Directions 1.Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees 2.Mix ingredients (softened butter, if using salted butter, don't add salt) Roll into walnut size cookies (I use a tbs size scoop)1/8 cup chopped pecans optional 3.Bake 5 minutes, then press cookies down gently with fork. Bake 15 minutes more. Let cool. (These have about 30 carbs for the entire batch, depending on number of cookies about 1.2 carbs and about 80 to 90 calories each cookie)

Is it really a german trade? It seems so LOL, as I just have to have something after aswell, no matter what I eat. But 1 piece of 80% dark chocolate normally does it. Glad for you that the snow storm didn't do any more damage! We had severe weather warnings over the weekend, but it didn't come to much :). Have a happy hump day :)

Good Morning - sorry I missed this last night. Not that it will make you feel better but I had to have some trail mix last night - for the chocolate. I don't know what is wrong with me either. But maybe, if you know it is going to be an issue, you could take Gigi's advice. BTW - very glad to hear you are safe. Hope you thaw out quickly!

PS - Schmetterling's advice sounds pretty good to me too - LOL

Schmetterling, I like the 1 piece of 80% dark chocolate idea, think I'll try that too...Jozette, glad you didn't loose power during the snowstorm. I have a friend in Niantic who did, not fun at all. Luckily hers came back sooner than they expected, 1 day, not 4.

I know the feeling that a little sweet after eating. Sometimes, I make a little chocolate treat from cream cheese, cocoa, and sweetener...and sometimes I just take 1 bite of an Atkins bar. I know that I can't eat the whole bar as I slows everything else to a halt. But the cookies that Gigi makes sound delish!!!!

It's me again, Jozette....had another idea for your sweet craving after eating. The other day I was dying for something sweet so I made a MIM and instead of putting butter, sf jam, or whatever...I poured a little bit of Walden Farms chocolate over it....it was almost as good as a volcano cake. Since Walden Farms sauces are sugar-free, carb-free and calorie-farm it adds absolutely but deliciousness! Just an idea...
