I overate again. My idea to change coping mechanisms broke. I think it was too much stress too soon. At first I kid myself into believing I was one of those women who don't eat when they are stressed. I made a healthy dinner for the family then I nibbled on one chicken breast. An hour later I was eating leftover pizza and a low carb pumpkin dessert I made over the weekend.

The good news is the low carb pumpkin bake was good! And it's something I can eat without cheating. It did seem like it was a little too sweetener tasting at first but a day later I didn't notice. Maybe it was the stress.. who knows. The bad news is I'm pretty sure we just lost 70 acres. We will have no hay ground. None.. nada.. zip.. zero. Cows like hay. Cow's get bedded with hay so they stay clean and have a nice comfy bed to lay down on. A giant farm is outbidding us and right now the cost per acre is the highest in the area and going higher. Sooooo... we will see in the next couple of days if we will be able to feed our cows this year. My hubby who has only farmed his whole life and who has only known farming because it's all his family has done will probably be forced to quit. I keep trying to remember that we're all healthy, alive, and things could be worse but seriously? This is so freaking unfair. Now instead of having 5000 cows they can add on some more! And I just heard they bought another farm the same size as ours in the next county over that they basically squashed just like they are doing to us now.

Today my goal is to not burst out in tears whenever someone asks me how I'm doing. I will try to stay positive and hope some miracle happens because bursting out in tears in front of hubby really isn't helping his stress level. I will stay positive and eat low carb pumpkin dessert until I turn orange.

I am so sorry. This is awful news. Any other land you could rent in the area? That kind of thing makes me very angry. This is just unfair! I wish I had comforting words, or a solution... Take deep breaths, like you said, your family is healthy, alive and anything is possible. (((hugs)))
