Alanalinks's Journal, 10 February 2013

I just had my three week weigh in.. I am up .8lbs from last week! I have not eaten anything different. I am the food nazi! I did add exercise this week. I am hoping it is muscle that I am gaining!
Found an awesome new cardio workout that I can do while sitting. Jillian Michaels has been kicking my butt! I can only get through the second section of her Boost Metabolism workout! But my buns and thighs are feeling the burn. A half hour on the treadmill at 3.5 every day. I just remembered I am also on antibiotics this week... maybe that is what did it!

Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. New exercise can cause muscles to retain water temporarily. This can show on the scale as a temporary gain, no loss or smaller loss than usual. It will go away.

Great advice from Suzi161; also, what do your measurements show? If you aren't keeping your measurements, you really need to start.

I agree with the comments above, but after looking at your Food Diary, I would like to suggest a couple of things that might help. During the Induction Phase, make sure you're getting 12-15 net carbs from green, leafy vegetables. Try to cut out the Atkins bars and shakes, and other foods that have sugar alcohol, like the Carb Smart bars and the Jell-O. All of those things have been known to cause stalls in weight loss for most people. Also, try to stay under 20 net carbs every day, and drink plenty of water. If you haven't had FatSecret calculate your RDI for calories, I would recommend doing that, especially since you are exercising quite a bit. The body goes into "starvation mode" if you aren't eating enough calories and it will hold on to everything you eat in order to help you function properly. Oh, and Cool Whip is a no-no on Induction :( You might try these things and see what happens. Everyone's body reacts differently, so it's really just a trial and error process until you figure out how eating this way works for you. Much success to you!
