it's also possible that the bike riding is allowing you to gain muscle, which unfair as it sounds weighs more then fat..have you lost inches?

If you just began riding your bike, your muscles are probably sore. Muscles tear and take in water to repair themselves. So you can end up with a gain on the scale. It is temporary. Keep exercising and the scale will even out. You might end up losing sizes before seeing the scale move. But I would rather weigh 150 and be a size 4 then weigh 140 and be a size 6. Also not eating enough and exercising can cause a gain. You need to find a balance. The "Why the scales lie article" is really good.
