Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 04 February 2013

Have you ever had someone in your life tell you to stop losing weight then try to feed you? Hubby is on a couple bowling teams and one of the women on his team keeps trying to feed me and keeps telling me to stop losing weight. The first time she said there was no point in losing the weight if we were going to have more kids because I would just have to lose it again. But.. wouldn't I have to lose less if I weigh less when I start? Last friday she kept trying to feed me boneless chicken wings smothered in bbq sauce. I resisted. Sorta. I only stayed for the first game then little man and I went grocery shopping and I caved to some low carb bars since it was 8pm and I hadn't eaten anything since noon. BUT! I stayed low carb and around 1500 calories so.. I sorta succeeded. Kinda. At least the box was only missing one bar by the time it made it to the checkout. It could have been worse.

Then the next day I ate more bars because I had to get them out of the house and we finally got the new carpet in the bedroom but we were trapped in the bedroom and living room for 5 hours with no access to food. Yup.. that's my story and I'm stickin to it. lol The good news is the bars are gone and the weight is going down!

It just amazes me how some people feel they have the right to interject themselves in someone else's life. Where does this woman get off? I think I would have to just look her straight in the eye and tell her "my weight is really none of her concern. Should we decide to have more children at some point and time that will be our concern as well, trust me, we don't need any coaching"! Might shut her up, at least for a little bit!

Believe it or not, this has happened to me. And it comes from someone who is overweight themselves. Must be they don't want you to look better than them!

Just say no. That's all I do. People put food in my face all the time (especially meat since I've gone veg) trying to tempt me to eat. I consider it a challenge, but I know how you feel. I think regardless of wanting more children, you should be happy with you- and besides, from what I understand if you don't lose it first, you could double the weight after another child... It's just too easy to eat.

Ughhh. That happens a lot. The better you look, the more people will say it. Use it as motivation!!!

Nice job! The weather Friday night was HORRIBLE! Took me 1.5 hours to get Ry to his dad and it's normally 45 min. You ate BK for lunch? I had a DFW lunch and went to McD because it's closest! I did cave to the fries but used my own dressing so didn't help with the carbs but it did the cals and fat :-)

I was rushing at lunch time. I was all prepared with a birthday card to mail to my mom then someone in the house some how covered the thing in grease. Between running for a new card and the post office I was scrambling for time. Besides.. BK salads aren't that bad! lol Now I have onion breath though.

I think that often people find comfort in feeding unhealthy food to others - it gives them an excuse to eat this food themselves too. If I can proof that nobody can resist those yummy bbq wings, then I don't feel as bad eating them myself :)

I think I'd have fed her a bowling pin somewhere in that conversation so you're ahead of me :-)

Oh Oh OHhhhhhhhh, that women,,, BAD! It FIRES me up when people do that. It is a sickness she has! MY MOTHER is like that. She weighs 95 pounds, has been skinny all her life because SHE has an eating disorder (I think) and SHE pushed food on all the girls in our family, so now WE all have problems with food. Ohhhhh, no no no, i am keeping my bad words inside, now you know how I feel about it. SO GOOD FOR you for staying strong. Everytime I say no thank you to my mother, she keeps pushing, till i get mad, then she says, all you had to say is no thank you. AHHHH. Hang strong! You can do it. When I got down to 125, my whole family was trying to put the fat back on, so I did. Not this time NO. We can do it!

Maybe I post too many sarcastic truthful thing on FB for anyone to have the nerve to do that to me. My hubby's family is all big. And when I say that I mean at least 30% body fat. I was always very slender until I got the depo shot after the first kid. Gained 40 pounds in 6 months. Once I started losing weight from that I pretty much was prego or had an infant for the next 7 years. His mom said something to me one day about how it looks like I was going to end up just like them. It made me sick because I was still having kids what was their excuse? So now when she sees me I kinda hope it makes her sick after saying that rude crap.

It's amazed me how often I encounter people like this, truly! I've started to take it as a blessing.. at least people are showing their pettiness to me, so I know who to avoid being friends with!
