I'm still doing very well! I'm also learning some great new, quick, low-calorie recipes to add to my fairly limited range of foods.

I went to a combination strength-training/cardio class yesterday - it was great. The teacher was an old friend of mine from way back when I used to live here in the UK (more than 20 years ago - tomorrow is my 20-year anniversary of moving to Turkey btw!). He led a fun, high-energy class which I ought to be able to do at home - I have the necessary weights and equipment so I've written down the sequence of exercises and intend to get some music together and do it :)

Going to a second session of Body Balance today, the yoga to music routine, which I will also try to remember because it was great for stretching and flexibility.

There is such a range of classes available here, even in a small town like this, it's so motivating and easy to get moving. In the town where I live in Turkey it's still the same old same old - lifting weights at the gym and so-called aerobics or pilates classes stuck in the dark ages. The worst thing about it is the instructors who sound bored and uninterested and who just stand over the class giving directions and counting - they do nothing to up the energy or motivation levels and don't change their routines, either, so I get bored quickly.

Just occurred to me that I could look for a DVD or two to take home with me!

We have a big family dinner at home planned for this evening - salmon en croute, new potatoes, salad and a chocolatey dessert - I won't worry about it too much, just get in the exercise plus lots of walking today.

Amazing how eye-opening a trip back home can be, isn't it? Great going on the exercise, and by all means, get several of those DVDs. Great way to break up the same old routine, and maybe shake up your metabolism, too!
