So yesterday's "experiment" revealed that I did gain, but only a small amount (about 0.6 or thereabouts; the numbers kept fluctuating over three consecutive readings). I am glad. Without the exercising and all other precautionary measures, I'd have seen at least a 3 pound gain, instead! Moral of the story: It is posssible to indulge, but make sure to workout more (calories in= calories out), drink a lot of water, & portion control.

Also, TOM arrived this morning (probably adding to the other variables accounting for the gain). I woke up feeling pretty sore (probably coz of those blasted squats), and as the day wore on, TOM's presence made itself known through other aches and pains.

I went to work out around 5 pm (instead of morning), as I had planned to get a good chunk of work finished earlier. Workout was great and upgraded to a more intense pace, as a result I was sweating quite a bit, and even the usual weight-lifting was harder. I did 45 mins of treadmill (218K), 15 mins of bike (66 k), and another 15 mins of weights (bicep curls, tricep extension, and lateral raises). No outdoors walking today.

Food has been good as was water-intake.

Meals & Points:
BreakfasT: cereal and soy milk (4), coffee with milk (0.5)

Lunch: Salad (Sauteed mushrooms, cucumber, green bell pepper on a bed of arugula in a home-made lemon, mustard vinaigrette) (1)
And a portion of the leftover risotto from yesterday (3 tbsp, probably 6 pts?)

Snack: 2 ricecakes (2)

Dinner: Roasted tofu (2.5) in sesame oil (1), ginger, and lemongrass, with stir fry veggies and roasted walnuts (2.5)

After-dinner:
soy milk (1.5)

Total: 20

161.8 lb Lost so far: 16.2 lb.    Still to go: 31.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

how KIND of you to volunteer to be the human experiment! So, indulging isn't so costly after all, huh? It's just like starving a day or two and not losing weight...it goes both ways, I guess! Your dinner sounds delish! Would you believe I've never eaten tofu?? I know what it is, see it all the time at the restaurants and grocery stores, but WHY OH WHY does it have to have a name like TOFU?? It almost sounds like TOE FOOD...and what's appealing about that?? LOL "Here! have a lil' bite of toe-jam food!" No thanks! LOL

ugh! Andee, you totally RUINED the only form of susbtantial protein I can have as a vegetarian!! LMAO! Next time I'm going to have a nauseating visual (and dare I say, smell?!) of the TOE-FU I'm eating!! Only you can think these things up! But yeah, that is indeed a terrible name for a food item to have! Leave it to the Chinese! ;)

I'm so pleased the results of your experiment were so positive - I'm sure between TOM and aching muscles, that small gain is just down to fluid retention, so will be gone again in no time! Now, I don't think I'll be tempted to try tofu any time soon... ;) Have a great Friday, buddy!! :)

Toe Food??? OMG! I'm not so certain dinner tonight is going to be a good one now. I've been veg for years and refused to try cooking with tofu until 3 years ago. It's just fabulous. Fortunately I just think of it as soy. I hope that Toe Food doesn't become my new visual!

I LOOOOOVE Tofu..ok..it is linked to the fact that like 08, I dont indulge in the meats in restaurants (I have a phobia about hygiene..and is it really a cow I am eat..or...???) My fav is the fried Tofu or tofu in soup. Aint no toe food..toe jamming gonna put me off!
