Feeding the guys at work today. I made one HUGE pot of chili con carne (huge for an at home cook - not so huge for a caterer, but plenty to serve 20 people). The chili fills up an oval roasting pan (the size you'd cook a turkey in) and I have a container of it put aside to keep at home for my guys. It contains 3.5lbs hamburger and 2bs Italian sausage, 2 lrg cans of tomatoes, 2 lrg cans tomato sauce, 1 big can tomato paste, 3 lrg cans kidney beans, onions, bell peppers, garlic & all the spices. It has been in oven all night and the house smells amazing. I made sure to get all the accompaniments I could think of - corn bread & tortilla chips, sliced jalapenos, diced green onion, chopped yellow onion, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream and fresh cilantro. I may not be able to eat all of this stuff but these guys are hard working men. They can pretty much eat whatever they want right now. Hope everyone has a great Friday!
