Yippee! Happy Dance; got my project truck. At least, I won the auction. I still have to go to Algonac, Michigan to pick it up. Now, I am probably the only one in the world that thinks this thing is beautiful, but here's some pics:

I'm thinking that when I retire from this job, I might start a kitchen remodeling business, or cabinet making; this ought to work out well for that. Of course, it will look a little better than this when I'm done. What do you think?

How can you put a price on something like this? :D

You must be a very hard worker to pick a project like this. Can't wait to see what it looks like after you are done. Don't forget to keep buttering up your DW. :)

LOVE the truck, DK. It IS gorgeous and huge. Love the dash, it's so vintage. It's funny that the picture of where it's parked kind of looks like where you live (at least to me). I can imagine you're going to have huge fun with this project. With you mad skills and loving care, this truck will never have looked so good when you're finished, even when it was new. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Hey DKing...I love the older vehicles as they have character...you used to be able to tell what kind of vehicle you saw from a distant just by the shape of them... I can just see you working on this with a big smile on your face..and dust from all the buffing you'll have to do..love the dash..most cars now go to over 100 mph..who needs to do that unless your hauling moon shine..LOL...Have fun with it buddy...:O)

It's just Ummm LOVELY! I can see why your wife didn't encourage you. When I though project truck, I thought maybe a 1999 ford. HAHAHAHAHA. This is a project for the next few years, but I can imagine it when its done. What color is it going to be!? Light blue or red..

Congrats on the truck.. not my thing but happy that you have your new project!!!

Light blue or red? I'm thinking more like a very dark pearl green with a white grill. This is a man's truck! Haha; got a while before I get that far. I can tell you that everything under the body will be a satin black like it's supposed to be. I'm already thinking toy hauler. I know the Sportster will fit in there; maybe the trike. See ya!

I love old vehicles. Watching Mad Men lately and really wishing I could wear the clothes, decorate with the furniture, and drive the cars!

My Dad has a couple of project cars and trucks. He hasn't retired yet and hasn't gotten much time to work on them. Maybe in about a year. My mom nags on him about it, but overall, she tolerates it. She gets it that they are his hobby and keeps him out of her hair. :)

All you guys and gals have to stay in shape so you're still around to see it when it's finished. I mean like, what's the point in showing you these pics now, if I can't bragg about the difference later? :)
